General Electric Sr Staff Software Architect in Boston, Massachusetts
As a Sr Staff Software Architect for the Digital Engineering team, you will be working on internal productivity systems and digitization initiatives supporting the proposal process and enhancing the customer experience for Gas Power System.
Gas Power System is an engineering to order business where speed and quality of proposals are critical to the success of business. You will be required to interact with multiple technical product managers, software architects, data architects, development PODs & domain experts to develop products for internal GE consumption.
In this role you will:
Lead and coordinate the domain technical and business discussions relative to future architecture direction across the market intelligence and proposal costing product suite.
Collaborate with technical architects, developers & subject matter experts to establish the technical vision & analyze tradeoffs between usability & performance needs, keeping customer needs in mind.
Analyze design and develop product roadmaps and implementation plan based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint.
Review, analyze and develop architectural requirements at domain level within product portfolio or team.
Lead & manage data architecture/design needed for the product design.
Work with enterprise architects to ensure enterprise alignment, currency of software, and operating characteristics.
Contribute to the development of software and data delivery platforms that are service-oriented with reusable components that can be orchestrated together into different methods for different businesses.
Gather and analyze data and develop architectural requirements at project level, aligning architectural requirements with software development strategy.
Lead the research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support actives.
Will partner with the project teams and will be responsible for architecting world class technical designs leveraging industry standard processes.
Specializing in Costing Systems and Market Pricing Analytics for Configure to Order and Engineer to Order business models. Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
A minimum of 10 years of technical experience along with established leadership credentials across disciplines and functions within a product OR Master’s degree with 8 years of experience OR PhD with 5 years of experience.Eligibility Requirements:

Prior experience designing, architecting, or developing market analysis or proposal costing solutions for engineer to order and configure to order business model.
Proven results designing innovative technical product solutions and setting technical direction and goals of software products.
Experience with analytics required to develop pricing charts based on market & historical data.
Experience with developing transactional systems that are scalable for future business growth.
10+ years’ experience in enterprise web application design & development serving 100+ Users.
5+ years’ experience with data design consolidating multiple data sources & managing historical data.
Well-versed in Agile methodology i.e. authoring/splitting user stories into technical requirements, running & contributing in agile ceremonies etc.
Complex Product Design experience involving multiple modules, process simplification & harmonization.
Strong verbal & written communication skills, and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse global group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Leadership skills to drive business transformation at enterprise level across multiple functions.
Experience of the use of, and tailoring of, best of breed project management processes and tools.
Team leadership experience with excellent interpersonal skills.
Self-motivator and result oriented to complete task as per timelines.

Sound understanding of Data base technologies & standard data modeling tools.
Experience driving activities to influence code quality and process rigor.
Able to analyze & document information needs & technical design, as well as deliver accurate & detailed artifacts as needed (such as: functional requirements / Business Requirements Document, Use Cases, Interface Guides, Functional Specification Documents, GUI, Screen & Interface designs for Java apps, DWH, reporting tools, etc.).
Proficient on J2EE technology stack and experience on enterprise application development on Predix or AWS cloud using microservices.
Working knowledge of technology stack: HTML5, Angular JS, Polymer, React, Node and Bootstrap for front end development.
Working knowledge of Spring framework and Spring technologies like Spring Boot, MVC and Data.
Working knowledge of development tools & integrated build systems: Eclipse IDE, Git/Jenkins/Maven.
Experience with Oracle & Postgres databases.Business Acumen:
