Sr. Systems Engineer / Data Analytics / Aero HUMS Systems
The purpose of this work is to develop an engine in support of an aerospace customer. Part of the design and development requires native capability associated with engine health monitoring and condition-based maintenance, similar to HUMS capability today. Data architecture, algorithm design and development are required to enable these capabilities
Scope is related to portion of program specifically related to algorithm development related to engine performance trend monitoring and associated analytics, including applicable program oversite and artifacts. Scope does not include design, architecture, certification related to broader, general engine design, data capture or data transfer, though data architecture associated with analytics is in scope.
Develop documentation and artifacts associated with analytics associated with engine performance and trend monitoring:
Decomposing requirements from system level to detail level – what data and associated architecture will be required to support trend monitoring and engine performance analytics
Generate Interface Control Document (ICD)
Develop algorithm design and development plan
Generating corresponding V&V plans
Developing code for 7 algorithms –( Event Detection, Perf Trending, Oil Filter DP monitoring, UBL, ODMS, Oil level monitoring, Oil condition monitoring. Also includes a HUMS-ready spec.)
Support program reviews including, but not limited to, design reviews, PDR, et al.
Algorithm Development Plan – approved development plan documented and released in an ERS memo.
V&V Plan – approved V&V plans to support algorithm testing documented in ERS memos and released.
Algorithm Logic – approved logic for each of the algorithms and HUMS ready spec to be released in ERS memos.
Resources and Skills Requirement
Data science – 3 years’ experience with development and analytics tools including Matlab, Simulink and Python; experience with trend monitoring, preferably aerospace mechanical systems.
Systems engineering – 3 years’ experience with aircraft systems design and integration. This could be data and analytics related (familiarity with aircraft data and data flows) or systems related experience (experience in specific aircraft ATA chapters).
