How will you make an impact?

The Strategic Project Manager is responsible for the execution of strategic projects in support of the Pharma Services Group. The Strategic PM leads the design and adherence to new business processes and ensures new technologies support the business process. Working with the Director of Global Technology Transfer & Strategic Projects, project sponsor, global businesses and functions, the Strategic PM leads key components of process development to transform key business process standardization and simplification across the division.

What wil you do?

  • Work closely with the Director of Technology Transfer & Strategic Projects and Business leaders to define project scope and deliverables.

  • Work with the global businesses to define workstream strategy for process enhancements.

  • Strategic programs in scope to be led by this individual will typically expand across all four PSG sub-divisions, with an emphasis on harmonization and process improvement of key processes and business needs as relates within the commercial function. This may include new technology or software application for business use, organizational integration, process harmonization effort, evaluating and improving commercial and business internal processes as relates to project management, business management, commercial sales, customer experience, and new product introduction.

  • Define team structure and management operating system, including selection of a steering committee.

  • Develop and gain approval from steering committee for schedule, budget and resource plan, and changes to the plan as needed.

  • Lead a team that may be global and cross-functional to deliver the project scope on time and in budget.

  • Develop and maintain program documentations including project charter, roadmap, and other project management tools in alignment with project management methodology.

  • Utilize rigorous risk identification and mitigation process on an ongoing basis and convey effectively to internal management.

  • Define and track metrics; maintain unified Dashboards and report on global project/ program progress, often to different levels of stakeholder.

  • Ensure that program deliverables meet quality, regulatory and legal standards.

  • Work with management, finance and IT teams to support business program execution.

  • Initiate the involvement of appropriate departments, maintaining continuous communication with those departments, and ensure the work delivered to stakeholders is of a consistently high standard.

  • Mine and coordinate resource sharing between constituent projects to overall benefit of program.

  • Develop and implement a change management strategy and communication plan, with global business leader / project sponsor.

  • Develop and share best practices to improve performance of the strategy deployment office.

How will you get here?

Education

  • Requires accredited college, university or recognized professional degree, preferably in a health-related field.

Experience

  • Requires 5+ years of successful experience in project management, finance, operations or equivalent function

  • Requires proficiency in personal computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilties

  • Requires excellent organizational, planning, verbal, written and numerical skills with the ability to analyze and define solutions and manage multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines.

  • Requires strong and effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and stakeholders.

  • Proven experience of working collaboratively in global multi-function teams and ability to transition between roles effectively, including at divisional leadership level.

  • Ability to assess global situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization and the customer.

  • Ability to speak, listen and write in a clear, concise, thorough and timely manner across sites and functions using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.

  • Ability to overcomes obstacles and achieve key outcomes- follows through to get things done and delivers what is promised across all sites and functions.

  • Adaptability - ability to take assignments, potentially without previous expertise in specific function, and understand problem statement, onboard necessary resources, and define solution with team.

  • Ability to achieve alignment across stakeholders representing different divisions and priorities, and simplify complex problems with clear roadmap and vision.

  • 10-25% international and domestic travel.
