Wells Fargo recently announced the sale of Wells Fargo Asset Management to GTCR LLC and Reverence Capital Partners, L.P. The sale is expected to close in the second half of 2021. We are continuing to recruit for open positions supporting Asset Management, but want to ensure you are aware that when the sale closes this position will be transferred to the new company. If you begin working at Wells Fargo, you should expect to transfer with the sale to the new company, with similar employment terms and conditions following your Wells Fargo start date.

This position supports several critical core investment management processes in the functional areas of investment management, compliance, settlement and operations. It requires an in-depth understanding of various investment processes associated with the above mentioned functions. This role also requires a deep understanding of various complex business workflows supporting complex instrument types. The role supports WFAM equity and fixed income traders, portfolio managers and analysts to understand pro-actively, the technology needs of the firm’s various investment teams and to communicate opportunities, progress, and accomplishments. Additionally, this role acts as a liaison between the business investment teams and technology organization through gathering, documenting and translating more complex business requirements into technical specifications. The role provides technical assistance by identifying, evaluating, and developing technical solutions as well as assisting with procedures that are cost effective in meeting the business requirements. The role acts as an internal consultant to the business teams to define process improvement and seek greater efficiencies. The position requires strong project management skills and an ability to lead multifaceted complex projects, project teams, and vendor resources. Works with investment teams to provide training, resolve questions, assess user needs, and recommend changes. Recommends, initiates, and completes systems testing. Provides direction and guidance to less experienced staff.

Successful candidate will play a key role in enabling the Investment Technology’s BSC team to deliver simple, effective, timely and affordable information technology solutions to complex investment decision-making and execution problems/opportunities for the WFAM Equity business. In addition, the candidate will work with the other BSC team members, Software Development teams, EIT Infrastructure team and Governance teams, WellsCap Investment Operations, WellsCap Compliance and key technology vendors as part of implementing technology solutions. Candidates in this position will focus high priority initiatives spanning portfolio management, trading, and the Managed Accounts business. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Possess a deep understanding of Charles River Development CRIMS application

  • Contribute to definition of project work streams – planning, sizing and scheduling

  • Demonstrate an deep understanding of the equity and FI investment business

  • Deliver Highly Effective Technology Solutions. Ensuring timely / accurate information and system availability, proactive risk mitigation, support efficiency, and collaborative partnerships

  • Identify and provide solutions using vended tools that solve our customers’ problems

  • Identify, articulate, and document new requirements and act as a liaison to internal development teams

  • Help the business address technology governance needs such as those associated with ongoing maintenance of our applications and the on-boarding of new applications and systems

  • Works as a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, document, communicate and validate requirements

  • Works closely with Systems Development teams to clarify business requirements and translate business requirements to technical requirements

  • Develops detailed test plans & test cases and conducts system integration & user acceptance testing to validate and certify developed solutions

  • Conducts user training and promotes solution adoption

  • Documents clearly and concisely the information necessary to support the applications and solutions

  • Demonstrating outstanding flexibility and teamwork

  • Demonstrating sound decision making which reflects an understanding of the firm’s equity business and its priorities.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in business systems analysis or design as demonstrated through work, military, or education

  • 7 + years of experience gathering business requirements from various sources including end-users and stakeholders

  • 7+ years of experience supporting trading systems, applications or platforms

  • 6+ years of experience with configuration, administration or batch processing of Charles River (CRD) platform

  • 5+ years of experience with databases such as Oracle, DB2, SQL server, or Teradata

  • 2+ years experience designing and optimizing complex SQL queries involving table joins and correlated sub-queries on large scale data tables

Desired Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge and understanding of operation work flows/processes

  • Deep knowledge and understanding of governance and compliance expected from providing solutions in systems and technology domains

  • Ability to manage projects or programs following a Standard Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) approach, with scheduled release code deployments

  • Knowledge and understanding of application or software and infrastructure testing activities with full project level engagement involving all aspects of SDLC and STLC (Software Development or Testing Life Cycle)

  • Knowledge and understanding of project management principles and the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
