Job Description Summary

We are looking for a UX (User Experience) Designer to join us.
Under moderate supervision this role, works in collaboration with Innovation Consultants (an internal role) and Engineers in Enterprise Innovation as well as with key stakeholders. The UX specialist partners with a collaborative, cross-functional team to research, design and usability test. This role supports a Design Thinking methodology and performs a range of key UX tasks based on varying project requirements. UX responsibilities may include: developing research plans, conducting interviews, creating personas, customer journey mapping, competitive or heuristic evaluations, research synthesis and/or synthesis workshops, user research reports, facilitating and/or participating in ideation workshops, prototyping, high-fidelity mock-ups, usability testing, and generating user testing reports.
Advocates for user-centered design approaches and ensures adherence to UX guidelines at the project level.
This role requires visual design skills as it has both UX and UI (User Interface) responsibilities.
Practices collaboration, experimentation, agility, and vigorous inquiry, while maintaining high standards and attention to detail.
Implements and provides feedback on UX best practices and objectives.
A generalist who can perform a range of UX functions: research, synthesis, ideation, design and testing.
Translates research findings into design solutions.
Collaborates with team members in Innovation and other internal partners
Must Have: Expert in Sketch and InVision
Nice to have: Experience with Mural, UserZoom, UserInterviews or, similar tools. Understanding or, working knowledge of HTML and CSS, experience coaching others in UX practices.
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, psychology, human factors, social sciences or related field or 1 year of User Experience work experience required.

- Typical incumbent experience level 1-3 years (including prior internship experience).

Travel Requirements: Travel Occasionally
Note: This position will be remote until it is safe to go into the office in Hartford, CT and may remain remote, with required periodic visits to the Hartford CT office long-term.
