State Street Vice President, Global Human Resources (GHR) Technology in Boston, Massachusetts

We are looking for an experienced professional to join the GHR Technology Leadership Team. This role is part of the Global Human Resources organization and a key member of the team responsible for deploying and managing all Human Resources-related technology and, in partnership with key stakeholders and clients, maximizing our technology investments.

The ideal candidate is an accomplished leader that understands our industry, the business goals of our organization, the needs of our managers and employees, and uses this knowledge to continually improve our technology and keep us ahead of the curve.

A successful candidate must also be able to combine informed strategic thinking with hands-on capabilities.


  • Member of team that defines and executes our Human Resources technology strategy
  • Member of team that develops and maintains technology and product-specific roadmaps (Workday, Kronos, Cornerstone) that support the achievement of annual and long-term strategic goals
  • Own the creation, implementation, and execution of a “demand management process” that prioritizes all technology-related requirements. This process will drive resource allocation and timelines as well as provide transparency for all clients and stakeholders
  • Lead review of how critical business processes are currently configured and drive changes that result in efficiency gains as well as improvements in overall process effectiveness
  • In partnership with senior management, identify opportunities and risks for delivering the company’s services, including identification of competitive services, opportunities for innovation, and assessment of marketplace obstacles and technical hurdles to business success
  • Identify technology trends and evolving social behavior that may support or impede the success of the business, and recommend technology solutions
  • Collaborate with clients to assess and recommend technologies that support their needs


  • 10+ years of experience in a relevant technology or business consulting role
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, human resource management or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to define and deliver complex projects - from business case development through deployment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to function as part of a dynamic and collaborative leadership team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage people and also add value as a hands-on individual contributor
  • Results oriented, with the ability and flexibility to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate complex information to diverse group of stakeholders while building consensus and inspiring others
  • Demonstrated experience with new product development and implementation
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to distill, synthesize, and draw conclusions on large amounts of data
  • Collaborative problem solving skills and eagerness to solve challenging problems
  • Ability to be both strategic (roadmaps, architectures, planning, etc.) and tactical (scope specs, review code, etc.)
