Job Description:
An executive leadership role, reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), that is responsible to facilitate, document, and execute the enterprise-wide data strategy including data management and architecture and its effective development, maturation, implementation, and support to advance our Mission, Vision, Values, and associated strategies.
The role collaborates with DTS Leadership and C-level executives to establish a vision and to foster a culture that treats data and information as enterprise assets while defining strategies to maximize the value and use of data. In collaboration with DTS Leadership and C-level executives, facilitates the definition of a data governance strategy, roadmap, and operating model that brings consistent definitions, policies, and quality to governed data assets.
Intermountain Healthcare maintains employment registration in Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Kansas. Other locations may be considered. Currently, we are not hiring remote/hybrid workers with a home base in the following states: CA, HI, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, OR, WA.
Job Profile
Leads the definition of strategy, documentation of roadmaps, and continuous alignment with organization strategies in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders while serving as a champion for a data-driven decision-making culture.
Leads the definition of approach for and operation of governance of data, analytics, associated roadmaps, initiative prioritization, policies, and value measurement and realization in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders.
Leads the definition of the data governance operating model, product support, and data governance maturation to improve governed-data quality and data-driven decision making.
Leads the definition of the data management and governance architecture, including modernization, technology rationalization, and creating an effective platform for information delivery, data products, and workflow integrated data-centric applications.
Facilitates the sharing and further development of interoperability though expansion of Health Information Exchange(s) and platform functionality.
Oversees the enterprise data and analytics platform and data governance products, tools, and service delivery including support and projects including collaboration with stakeholders for
secure, compliant, and valuable data products, tools, and services.
Stays current with industry data, integration, information management and analytical methods, trends, and technologies. Actively networks and build professional relationships throughout Intermountain and in the community and national user groups and forums including presentations to internal and external groups and forums.
Actively participates in relevant initiatives and leadership meetings as appropriate (e.g., enterprise data, analytics, intelligent automation, digital initiatives, cybersecurity, privacy, compliance, data science, research).
Supports and encourages data and business analysts as well as data owners and stewards to participate and contribute to the enterprise analytics and data governance community, initiatives, and workgroups as appropriate.
Attracts, develops, and maintains human capital to continually improve the capabilities and delivery of the organization. Mentors and provides coaching to managers/supervisors and other team members and ensures that there is an adequate management succession plan in place. Builds a winning culture with a repeatable, process-based approach that recognizes the interdependence of all key stakeholders in the solutions delivery process.
Accountable to plan and manage the daily operations and initiatives including resource allocations and capital and operating budgets meeting timely service and initiative delivery expectations.
Responsible for directing the work of employees and agents for area of accountability, including staffing, goal setting, coaching, and mentoring, employee recognition, engagement and training, and performance management which includes addressing performance concerns through corrective action.
Manages customer, stakeholder, and vendor relationships and expectations. Focuses on solutions and strategies that create win-win situations both inside and outside of the organization.
Regularly communicates with staff through huddles, team meetings, individual one-on-one meetings, leadership rounding, and skip-level interviews as appropriate.
Minimum Requirements
Fifteen ( 15) years of experience in data and analytics leadership or comparable experience
Experience in integrating complex, cross-corporate processes, and data models in cohesive architectures
Business leadership experience facilitating, building, and managing strategy, budget, and high-performance teams
Five or more years of progressive leadership experience in leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide programs, operating and influencing effectively across the organization and within complex contexts
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree
Five or more years of leadership experience in a complex data environment in a mid-to-large sized integrated delivery system
Experience in transitioning from one generation of a data architecture to the next
Experience overseeing or operating a successful data governance program
Strategy and management consulting experience desirable

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$96.13 - $144.20
