Fundamental Components:

Under general supervision, supports and monitors platforms, conducts analyses, produces reports of varied healthcare data to assess Aetna products and programs. Fundamental Components & Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Administration of various BI Server environments (Tableau, Datameer, Atscale, Alteryx, Cloud, Birst, etc) .

  • Provide consultation services to business users and senior leaders.

  • Define and maintain process, provide oversight, and develop training that enable secure access to platform through appropriate governing policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Coordinate project and proof of concept solutioning and execution of BI and Analytic platforms

  • Coordinate upgrades and releases of new versions of platform software.

  • Evaluate latest technology products and identify those that provide the most strategic benefit

  • Provide technology and application support to end users

  • Participate in formulation of roadmap for technology, people and process related to analytics and reporting

  • Design repeatable and scalable platform management process for access, setup, and resource management etc

  • Monitor and provide metrics to management and business on platform usage and issues.

  • Teach and present webinars for all levels of the organization and for business admins on how to best utilize, provision, and setup technology platforms for business use

  • Work with vendors of analytical tools for integrations and enhancements.

  • Conduct market research to identify industry best practices and use cases to maximize platforms and automate business workflows.

  • Monitor and provide guidance on how to optimize the performance of tool platforms.

  • Manages personal resources efficiently to complete assigned projects accurately and on time.

  • Willing to learn new techniques, tools and approaches and in turn train others on these skills.

  • Participates in the development of project plans and timelines.

  • Responsible for commitments to quality and on-time deliverables.

  • Motivated and is willing to understand and probe into technical details and data irregularities.


Demonstrated project management and/or team lead experience.

  • 5+ years of relevant analytic experience within healthcare environment

  • 3+ years of relevant administration and support of BI platforms and technologies.

  • Experience with a variety of data sources and tools a plus (Hadoop, Netezza, MS SQL Server, R, Python, Java Script etc)

  • Experience with cloud based tools and ecosystems is a plus

  • Experience with Tableau Server is a plus

  • Experience with many BI/Analytic tools a plus

  • Experience with SQL, Java script a plus

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. Able to present to various audiences.

  • Created and written training materials a plus


The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
