Our Security Assurance team works to ensure no significant security risk escapes into customer-facing products, the supporting infrastructure, or our enterprise technology stack by proactively scaling security practices at all stages of the engineering and development lifecycle. The team is chartered to scale proactive security investments and controls including but not limited to security design reviews, threat modeling, code analysis, secure software supply chain, hardened public cloud infrastructure, and offensive security engagements to name a few.

Security Assurance organization is looking for a Senior Individual Contributor who is a strategic inspiring leader to help prioritize various technical security motions across the organization towards the most impactful business outcomes, assist the organization to stay focused on making tangible progress against sophisticated multi-functional work streams, empower our partners with the right amount of information and insights from Security Assurance services and support the organization to scale its service posture proportionate to the striking growth in Engineering velocity of the company.

You will be on the frontlines of guarding the efficiency of one of the best proactive security organizations in the industry as they reinvent and scale their services in a very rapid pace.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Program Governance

  • Build and implement a scalable framework for leading the most strategic and meaningful outcomes on Security Assurance’s long term roadmap through our Long Rang Planning and V2MOM (https://www.salesforce.com/blog/how-to-create-alignment-within-your-company/) platforms

  • Develop multi-functional and cross-organizational compass to bring alignment on critical business outcomes, work streams and talent disposition to enable iterative progress on business outcomes. Drive and be a change agent by stimulating, communicating, and institutionalizing process improvements within SA

  • Work directly with our SA functional leaders on establishing priorities and how to best align the team’s capacity and competencies. Review and continuously re-evaluate priorities and focus areas for the team for unified outcomes

  • Operational Excellence

  • Lead the budget planning, forecast and tactful disposition of allotted budget across all functional areas in Security Assurance in partnership with the functional leaders to drive improved accountability using proactive and transparent tracking mechanisms. Enable the funds to be dispositioned to the most impactful business priorities and to support talent uplift while balancing the need and feasibility

  • Enable the organization to recruit, retain and grow the talent base by supporting the Salesforce’s talent management lifecycle, empowering data driven recruitment efforts to lead headcount, developing the talent rotation programs within the group and conducting periodic evaluation of the processes for relevance

  • Define and manage the process for running operational health of Security Assurance services, drive a regular business cadence to measure the operational efficacy of individual functions and support the teams in their uplift journey

Customer and Partner empowerment

  • Serve as a central point of contact to facilitate outbound status reports measured through critical metrics for all Security Assurance related operational needs for our customers, executives, collaborators, and partner teams across Salesforce

  • Support customer communication needs and drive developer empowerment by maintaining the centralized repository of SA documentation, driving periodic updates based on content relevant and partner with the security communications organization to support the broader evangelism goals for the company

  • Contribute to a positive working environment and team culture through leading by example, bringing creative and fun ideas to maintain team morale, and being a champion for VTO activities and opportunities

Required Skills

  • 12+ years industry experience in leading large and sophisticated business process operations/process improvement programs, preferably in cybersecurity domain

  • Experience in Business Strategy, Product Management, Agile, Program Governance, Customer Enablement, Change Management and/or Value Realization

  • Demonstrated experience in organizing and facilitating project planning, meetings, and executive briefings. Ability to identify impediments that block the team’s ability to meet global objectives and influence respective partners

  • Ability to build executive-level relationships across Salesforce with a foundation of trust and accountability

  • Experience in driving enterprise wide budget planning, tracking and execution for large scale businesses

  • Ability to resolve problems and present appropriate business solutions and recommendations; ability to make reasoned, independent decisions objectively

  • Speaks and writes with clarity and purpose; explains areas of expertise clearly and expertly to others; influences and engages C-Level with authority and confidence

  • Superb communication skills around executive narratives, large scale outreach activities, and demystifying technical jargon to broad range of audience

  • Proven customer empathy and passion for alleviating customer pain with innovation

  • Deep intellectual curiosity and ability to lean upon data driven decision-making

  • Self-starter, able to make progress on complex business issues with a high amount of autonomy and responsibility

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience leading multi-phase projects with a wide range of partners across functional/business silos

  • Experience in the domain of security assurance, information security risk management and cybersecurity operations

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, BizOps or a related field

For Colorado-based roles: Minimum annual salary of $171,400 for a Chief of Staff - Senior Director. You may also be entitled to receive bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits.
