BAE Systems Fast Labs Group Lead for Heterogeneous Integration in Burlington, Massachusetts

BAE Systems FAST Labs RF, Electronics, Cyber (R3) product line is growing rapidly. Ranging from compound semiconductor technologies through development and demonstration of advanced electronic warfare capabilities, R3 has established itself as a market leader in the development of cutting-edge technologies. With this growth, we are seeking technology leaders to help drive R3 to an expanded future state.

This specific requisition seeks to fill an opening within our R3 Materials and Manufacturing Processes (M&MP) Technology Development team. The M&MP team focuses on wide bandgap semiconductor technologies, novel transistors and MMIC architectures, co-design of electrical, thermal and mechanical properties for electronics operating in harsh environments, and advanced packaging materials and processes enabling system design modularity. The Technology Development Manager for Materials and Processes for Heterogeneous Integration (MPHI) will be responsible for defining novel packaging solutions for a diverse set of RF and mixed-signal devices that are of high importance to business areas across all Electronic Systems groups. The MPHI Lead will be responsible for creating and maintaining roadmaps to bring novel materials and packaging solutions to the market. This requires forming relationships both internally and externally and evaluating market impacts of new packaging options, processes, materials and equipment. The MPHI Lead will be expected to works with an interdisciplinary set of team members to write proposals, manage and execute programs.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Lead relevant research programs as principal investigator

  • Contribute to and lead proposals

  • Build strategic partnerships with government agencies, external companies, and other BAE Systems groups and business areas

  • Implement a programmatic strategy to fund technology development

  • Pursue personal and portfolio growth to target standing up, managing, and supporting a team of scientists, researchers, and technology developers

  • Experience supporting Materials and Manufacturing Processes (M&MP) Technology

  • Experience and demonstrated success in capture of DoD R&D opportunities.

  • Motivated individual with strong problem-solving abilities, willingness to perform a wide variety of related tasks, and exceptional oral and written skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting technical research to large audiences
