Oracle Principal Applied Cryptographer (Join OCI-SDE) in Burlington, Massachusetts
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an Applied Cryptographer who understands cryptographic primitives and is passionate about improving and solving for complex cryptography problems. You should understand symmetric encryption, public key encryption, digital signatures, and message authentication codes. You should understand protocols like TLS and IPSec. You should have a basic understanding of cryptanalytic techniques such as by side-channel attacks.
Responsibilities
Build and maintaining easy to use, secure, open source encryption tools and libraries used by internal and external customers
Own software development lifecycle; define, prioritize, design, test, and implement features for Encryption in Transit, Encryption at Rest, and cloud-specific cryptographic problems at scale
Collaborate with development engineers on open-source, client-side cryptographic tool libraries
Help our customers protect their data and accelerate use of cryptography in all OCI services.
Develop and collaborate on user guides, developer guides, API references, tutorials, code examples, blog posts, and presentations
Describe the architecture and operation of cloud-based service that generates and protects encryption keys for customers
Qualifications
5 Years of experience with applied cryptography and the fundamentals of cryptographic primitives
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Programming language such as Java, Python, Ruby, Rust, C, C , or C#
Knowledge of AGILE project methodology and demonstrated success architecting and implementing software systems
Experience with REST architecture and RESTFUL APIs
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Preferred
Experience with Hardware Security Modules, Trusted Platform Modules (TPMs), or other cryptographic hardware
Experience with OpenSSL and FIPS
Experience with distributed systems and micro-service architecture
