Oracle Principal Hardware Developer in Burlington, Massachusetts
The Oracle Hardware Development team in Burlington is responsible for the architecture, design, validation, and release of industry leading enterprise class, X86 and ARM based server products used in Oracle Engineered Systems and Cloud infrastructure.
This position is for a highly experienced electrical hardware development/ validation engineer, responsible for measurement and analysis of board level signaling on Oracle's server products. This includes review and documentation of the signal quality of all electrical interfaces (i.e., CPU, memory, storage, PCIe, service processor and misc. I/O buses). Must be current on signal integrity principles and measurement techniques and be an expert at using the required tools and test equipment. Experience with Intel and AMD CPU chip set architecture is highly desirable. Perform signal integrity simulations and testing of high-speed interfaces including DDR, PCIe, SAS/ SATA, USB, NVMe and CXL, using applicable analysis and measurement tools. Interpret results and provide layout, routing, and PCB stack-up guidance to responsible design engineer. Investigate new/ evolving high speed interface technologies and develop comprehensive validation testing strategies and procedures. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other electrical validation engineers.
Responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic, electro-mechanical or mechanical components, assemblies or integrated circuitry for hardware systems for the external market. Includes new design, as well as modification activities that results in significant product enhancement. Activities encompass design, analysis, testing and process development using engineering principles and methods. Technical disciplines may include electrical and logical design of printed circuit boards or integrated circuits; mechanical design of electronics enclosures or integrated circuit packaging; and embedded software/firmware design.
Expert in electrical signal quality measurement, including jitter, noise, and timing analysis
Highly proficient in the use of test equipment including high-speed oscilloscopes, differential probes, logic, and network analyzers
Understanding of frequency domain analysis
Experience with Ethernet compliance standards and testing
Demonstrated ability to debug complex board level signaling problems
Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
Experience with Python or similar object-oriented programming language
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
BS/ MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering
