Oracle SDWAN software development team is seeking experienced Platform software engineer with 10-15 years of intensive C/C++ development experience in a Linux environment and prior telecom or networking experience.

Location: Morriville, NC or Burlington, MA

Oracle Failsafe SD-WAN delivers both MPLS-class high availability and high QoE (Quality of Experience) predictable application performance for both TCP-based apps and real-time apps like VoIP and videoconferencing, whether built on a hybrid MPLS plus Internet WAN fabric, or a WAN made up only of Internet connections.


  • Rapid and continuous learning to support new features, innovation.

  • Design, develop, maintain and unit test Oracle SDWAN software on Linux platform.

  • Work/Co-ordinate/collaborate with global Oracle Communications team in Agile development environment.

  • Review, troubleshoot and resolve field escalations. Write root cause analysis for field issues.

  • Participate in discussions and maintenance to improve the software performance, maintainability, serviceability, and reliability.

  • Other duties may be assigned.


The Oracle SDWAN team is currently seeking someone with 10-15 years of C/C++ software engineering in a Linux environment. Prior telecom, networking, database experience is expected.

Mandatory Skills:

  • BS/BE equivalent engineering/computer science education spanning 4 years.

  • Programming languages: C/C++ OSI Stack: L1-L5

  • Protocols: IPv4, VLAN, GRE, TCP

  • Strong background on Linux and multithreaded programming.

Good to have:

  • Protocols: IPv6, PQ, VXLan, HTTPS, DNS, DHCP…

  • Routing protocols: e.g. BGP, OSPF

  • Schedulers: WFQ, AltQ, CFQ, RED, Policing, Shaping, …

  • Firewalls/NAT, PF Sense

  • Security: Encryption, Ipsec, AES, OpenSSL, TLS, …

  • Linux application performance

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities.

  • Strong command on spoken and written English.

  • Excellent team skills, can-do attitude, focus on quality and drive to make a difference in a dynamic, fast paced organization.

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
