Oracle Principal Security Engineer (JoinOCI-SDE) in Burlington, Massachusetts
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

Principal Security Engineer

The Threat and Vulnerability Management team plays a key role in enabling Oracle's Security vision. As a team, we focus on reducing the threat landscape, enhancing the overall Security posture of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and its services. As a Security Engineer, you will be focused on analyzing and mitigating security risk. You will be working closely with software and systems engineers from the cloud service teams to solution and remediate the threats and vulnerabilities OCI is exposed to. You will be performing threat analysis and communicating with engineering and leadership teams at all levels about the risks and mitigations. Responsibilities
Assess, prioritize and communicate risks and urgency to leadership and engineering teams
Drive, develop, and champion security tools automating vulnerability assessment and remediation in languages such as C/C , Python, Go or Java.
Ability to perform in-depth vulnerability assessments and variant analysis
Provide solution and guidance to software development teams to remediate security findings and reduce risk
Perform Threat analysis for Cloud services and write remediation plans
Champion best practice security configuration and hardening
Stay current with threats and cyber security counter measures, practices, techniques and capabilities in the marketplace
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
8 years of experience in security engineering
5 years of software/systems engineering experience
Hands-on experience with Threat analysis and vulnerability management
Working knowledge on Cloud computing architecture, primarily Identity, Compute and Networking
Experience with Software development framework like SCRUM
Ability to understand requirements and write a Spec
Experience with development for Cloud infrastructure specifically to write API’s/Webhooks in Python (or) Java.
Exposure to data warehouse technologies like Oracle Analytics
Application / product / software security background strongly preferred
Strong Linux Skills
Prior DevSecOps or continuous delivery and deployment experience preferred
Experience with compliance requirements for industry standard certifications like PCI, DSS, SOC2, HIPPA & FedRamp
