We are looking for a Security IAM team is currently seeking a talented and dynamic Leader who is passionate about Security and Identity & Access Management, to help secure the world’s #1 CRM. As a leader in the IAM team, your team will be responsible for designing, building, deploying and maintaining IAM systems as well as recommending optimizations for IAM services at a cloud-scale. Our Identity Security Operations team builds and operates a wide range of environments that comprise Salesforce’s large portfolio of services. Our engineers work across a wide range spectrum of technologies, ranging from open-source to Commercial tools & platforms, and multiple cloud substrates (AWS, GCP, etc).

Looking for a leader who can demonstrate initiative, ownership, and passion, as well as excellent organizational, leadership, and decision making skills. This position helps drive continuous improvement with a focus on process, controls, scalability, and maturity. This role will have an immediate focus on how IAM services are deployed across First Party & Cloud environments, with a longer term focus on increasing our security posture to enhance our NIST CSF score.

Vision : Scale and automate our IAM services across the enterprise to support Salesforce’s journey to be the most mature Security organization in the industry.

  • The ideal candidate will lead and inspire a team within Security Infrastructure Identity and Access [IAM]. Deliver Security services, drive change, think independently, communicate clearly, and provide recommendations for process, service and automation initiatives on 1P (first party) and Cloud environments.

  • Take us to the next level of IAM agenda. Contribute to the direction, create technical specifications, drive the future of automation and tooling, so we can offer standard services across all of Salesforce’s enterprise teams

  • Oversee projects to automate repetitive security, compliance and identity & access tasks from development to operations (DevOps).

  • Define goals and timely deliverables for improving any of provisioning/de-provisioning, privileged user management, role-based access control (RBAC) entitlement, appropriateness of access and/or IAM services that are needed to support our business internally or externally.

  • In conjunction with our engineering teams, work with partners & team members to design/architect, test, deploy and operate our IAM stack. You will partner with other business units, to deliver one enterprise identity solution for Salesforce.

  • Work with external teams and business units to onboard their IAM processes to infrastructure/tools provided by Security IAM.

  • Exercise influence to drive action and design cloud scale solutions with cross-functional teams in the Security IAM arena.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to management; implementation & operation of compliance programs, reviewing security configuration, and architecture.

  • Create and foster programs, to tighten data security, and governance of internal data.

  • Participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation on a periodic basis.

  • Support ongoing and new security/compliance initiatives. Oversee relevant V2MOM methods & ensure important progress indicators are met.

  • Some travel may be required.

  • Full-time position at our US office, job level dependent on experience.

Required Skills/Experience

  • BS/BEng/BTech degree, or equivalent work experience.

  • Forward-thinking, dynamic self-starter with experience managing or technically leading a Security product Engineering and operations team (preferably in the Identity space).

  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies and principles.

  • Knowledge of automation/scripting languages e.g.: GoLang, Python, Java or similar.

  • Experience in consumption of Web Services APIs (JSON / XML, etc.).

  • Experience developing robust, scalable and performant data integrations with Mule ESB (or equivalent) platform

  • Demonstrate an understanding of Operating Systems e.g. Linux/Windows

  • Experience in multi-tiered mission-critical systems, cloud environments (Amazon AWS)

  • Knowledge and experience with Identity and Access Management technologies and concepts.

  • Solid experience in a high-availability 24x7x365 environment with highly structured change management.

  • Strong technical understanding of systems, network and identity fundamentals.

Desired Skills/Experience

  • Knowledge of automation/scripting languages Terraform, Spinnaker, JSON, Puppet, etc.

  • Knowledge of classic auth platforms: (Kerberos, LDAP, Radius, Tacacs+, etc.).

  • Federation platforms/protocols (Oauth, OpenID, SAML, WS-Fed, etc.)

  • Working experience with Commercial/enterprise IAM platforms (Ping Identity, Active Directory, etc.) or Open Source (OpenLDAP, OpenDJ, etc.).

  • Experience of the Salesforce Platform

  • Experience with cloud-scale Identity, Access Management (Single Sign-On/Multi-Factor Authentication), Authorization services or design and architecture of IAM services

  • Security-specific certifications (CISSP, CISM, etc.)
