Oracle Senior Software Development Manager, OCI Virtual Networking (JoinOCI-Leader) in Burlington, Massachusetts

We’re looking for a hands-on leader with strong management and technical experience to drive the development of new features and services. You will ensure that we scale to meet OCI's incredible growth while maintaining our strong uptime track record. As a Senior Software Development Manager, you will own key virtual networking components and both manage and grow a strong development team.You should be comfortable working in a fast-moving environment which requires agility, and the drive to deliver. Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of management experience in cloud software and/or SaaS

  • Deep networking knowledge, preferably from LAN through WAN

  • 1+ years in large scale distributed applications or 2+ years in networking

  • Bachelors in computer science and Engineering or related engineering field

  • Distributed systems experience

  • 3+ years agile development experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of software development experience (hands-on or management)

  • Prior development experience with C, Golang, Java, etc.

  • Service management experience including operations

  • Experience with all aspects of product/service development and delivery including from design, implementation, testing, delivery and support

  • Experience with contemporary development methodoligies including CICD, TTD, and Design First

Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.

Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
