Wellforce Sr Vice President, IT Operations in Burlington, Massachusetts

The Senior Vice President IT Operations will be responsible for the Information Technology Operations, that includes maintaining and implementing new digital initiatives, while providing expert knowledge and leadership. The role would be responsible for various system implementation, enhancement and optimization initiatives as well as the ongoing maintenance of the IT systems, and will report into the Chief Digital Officer & System CIO.

The Senior Vice President IT Operations will partner with key stakeholders of other areas, and manage the relationship between IT and other functions to drive innovation and strategies to support cost effective and scalable business operations during a major transformation. The role’s scope includes system wide information security, telecommunication technology, local and wide area network administration, office automation, technical support and coordination with other departments and external agencies. This role will be responsible for the management of the technology budget, high performing IT teams to support infrastructure, security, and the needs of the local sites. The role will provide direction to optimize the technology solutions, and the management of key vendors.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for strategic planning for technology infrastructure, information system assets, and enterprise security.

  • Full operational management responsibility for information and telecommunication technology functions and services; ensures appropriate implementation and support for medical, business and clinical systems by managing and coordinating applications development/maintenance, data processing, data center infrastructure, local/wide area network administration, office automation and technical support activities.

  • Engage, build and partner with executive leaders and key stakeholders to ensure alignment with current and long-term business objectives.

  • Responsible for optimizing the IT demands and the supply capacity of the teams to prioritize the assignment of resources.

  • Build and manage an engaged and high performing team.

  • Responsible for building and optimizing the evolving needs of system level architectural capabilities to support the data and integration strategies.

  • Establish the objectives for operations, maintenance, and enhancement of the IT systems and a plan for continuous improvement of the service levels.

  • Manage and share monthly reports on service levels for infrastructure, development, operations, and vendor management activities.

  • Provide expertise and leadership in selection and management of vendors to provide low-cost, high efficiency solutions.

  • Create IT policies and operational procedures that affect the systems’ data, operations and reliability of the infrastructure.

  • Maintain quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control in accordance with established policies, procedures and objectives.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent combination of experience and education.

  • Master’s degree or advanced degree is required.

  • 15+ years of experience in leading IT operations and 5+ years at the executive level.

  • Experience working in healthcare is strongly preferred

  • Experience in multi-site operations, complex infrastructure, large member population applications, healthcare and/or managed care industry

  • Exemplary leadership and stakeholder management expertise.

  • Exceptional presentation skills, communication skills, and ability to motivate team members.

  • Innovative problem solver with critical thinking skills and strong analytical abilities.

  • Operational characteristics and capabilities of multiple computer operating systems, platforms, environments, hardware, software, router-based networks, and relational database applications in a client-server environment.

  • Expertise in the principles and practices pertaining to electronic commerce and information system testing, evaluation, analysis and security administration.

  • Strong understanding of emerging technologies within the healthcare medical, clinical and business fields.

  • Knowledge of laws, codes and regulations related to healthcare information management; JCAHO, HIPPA and other regulations pertaining to data security.

  • Experience with system integration and change management.

  • Demonstrated Technical Delivery Excellence (thought leadership, on time delivery, data center & infrastructure operations, project and program management)

  • Experience in cultural transformation of an IT organization preferred
