The Information & Cognition Division is seeking a Group Leader for the 3D and Mobile Applications Group. This Group works on exciting, diverse, and cutting-edge projects across AR, VR, and Android platforms. These projects range from Android-based situational awareness to AR heads up displays and across customers in the DoD and commercial sectors.

The Group Leader position is a multifaceted role, in which the candidate will be responsible for growing, managing, and developing the team, shaping and enabling development and deployment of novel technology offerings, and ensuring that the team is successfully executing on the wide range of projects being worked. Group Leaders are also expected to perform as an individual contributor or leader on project teams. The Group Leader will be expected to manage, grow, and maintain a talented staff of engineers, building a strategic mix of skillsets and disciplines. The Group Leader will also be responsible for promoting the culture of innovation within the group, growing the culture of collaboration outside of the group, nurturing new ideas, and supporting engineers in proposal writing and other business development activities. The ideal candidate is a proven leader, an assertive self-starter, engaging colleagues and building ideas in a team-centered environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other software focused engineering discipline with 5+ years hands-on experience working in the field

  • Demonstrated technical expertise in either 3D development, such as Unity, or Android development

  • Knowledge of current best practices, tools, and frameworks as well as emerging technologies, trends, and processes in their field

  • Experience leading diverse teams to demonstrable success

  • Collaborative team player with a passion for people and innovation

  • Excellent written & oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Flexible multi-tasker who can adapt to evolving priorities

  • Ability to clearly communicate about technology to a broad range of audiences, including customers, internal and external stakeholders, management, engineering peers, and others across a broad range of technical and non-technical backgrounds

  • Experience with hiring and team building

  • Strategic thinker who can craft and execute a vision for the group that moves the larger organizational goals forward
