Microsoft Corporation Adoption and Change Management Architect in Cambridge, Massachusetts

We are looking for an experienced ACM Architect to join our team as we continue to develop and grow our Adoption and Change Management Global Practice. The ACM Architect is a non-technical role and is focused on the discipline of people and behavioral change management. Within Microsoft Services, the ACM GP was established in FY15, has grown to about 90 people worldwide, and is responsible for the delivery of Adoption & Change Management services offerings throughout the globe. Our goal is to drive high value end-user adoption via individual, group and organizational change management services. As we build ACM capabilities you will assist in field enablement activities to empower MS resources on ACM around the globe. You will contribute to and participate in practice development activities such as the development of new offerings, marketing collateral and foundational business processes for our ACM practice, reporting in to the ACM GP Architect Manager.

The Architect team is a new structure within the ACM Global Practice and is a non-technical team, whose expertise is focused on developing and evolving Change Management and Adoption Services from a people and organizational perspective.

Ideal candidates will have 10+ years of change leadership experience and should be self-motivated, confident in working at a senior level in customers and within Microsoft and comfortable in working in a matrix organization. They need to be able demonstrate the ability to achieve results through influence and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity.​


In your role as an ACM Architect your key responsibilities will include:

Business Development and Pre-sales

Working as the immediate contact and opportunity owner, you will work with the new Global Pursuit team to effectively answer and address engagement requests from the new Global Domains and direct from Account Aligned teams within the Areas.


You will be responsible for evangelizing the need and impact of Adoption & Change Management, both internally through field readiness, internal conferences, team/functional meetings etc. and externally through EBCs, speaking engagements, conferences, blogs etc.

Offering and IP Development

You will have responsibility as part of the ACM Architect team for development, innovation, incubation and evolution of ACM related offerings; both traditional consultancy engagements and scale offerings. This will occur in alignment and collaboration with the underlying Domains, to drive attach motions, and with related teams such as the Fast Track Centre and others as may arise.

Delivery Oversight

You will support delivery oversight, and be part of an ACM Architect team responsible for skills development and education of the GP consultancy team. This will involve close alignment with the GP Lead, TDMs and sponsors within the Domain organization, to develop and implement training in response to offering and workload evolution.

In addition, you will:

  • Mentor and coach ACM Consultants and client change teams

  • Communicate effectively and collaborate as part of a team of professionals

  • Facilitate meetings and workshops with team and key client contacts

  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships within the customer environment

Establish and manage client expectations while maintaining a positive, proactive and professional demeanor​


  • Required Expertise

  • 10+ years of professional experience, of which at least 8 years related to Business and/or IT consulting experience

  • Solid understanding of Microsoft's key ACM GP solutions across the new Domain organization workloads

  • Proven track record of delivery of significant transformational people or organizational change projects

  • Solid understanding of Business + IT strategy and methodology-driven change execution approach

  • Experience with a defined change management methodology is required

  • Strong understanding of solution selling; previous experience selling transformation/change management, business change through technology, or similar consulting offerings is valued

  • Executive-level interpersonal, verbal, written & presentation skills; strong listening & team building skills

  • Demonstrated analysis and communication skills connecting technology and business problems.

  • Experience working with different regional cultures and within a virtual global practice team

  • Proven self-starter able to deal with ambiguity resulting from a new practice and service offering

  • Regional multi-language skills strongly preferred

  • BA or BS degree in Social Science, Humanities, Psychology or Business and/or equivalent experience (MBA preferred)Travel is an integral part of this position as are high levels of recognition and visibility. Travel can be as high as 70% as is demanded by the needs of our customers and our business. This position location is flexible and will be within the appropriate area.
