As a successful Application Management, Associate Director, you will build strong strategic relationships with service providers, Takeda IT teams, and a variety of Senior Takeda Business Function/Unit leads.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide Leadership to the cross functional teams in the successful delivery of Application Support (run) services for the global portfolio of solutions, applications and platforms under you remit.

  • Business Partnership with IT stakeholders and Business Function/Unit leadership to manage expectations and communicate the status of Application Management Services for your functional and regional areas of responsibility.

  • Manage the delivery teams (internal or outsourcing vendor) and co-ordinate with Business Function/Unit leadership to deliver application run support services.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Define and implement strategies to deliver results related to application service delivery

  • Interface with key solution providers, and extract maximum value of vendor relationships on behalf of Takeda.

  • Lead strategic project efforts for the Application Management Services group.

  • Perform contract management activities, including developing contracts, following through the processes defined in the contracts, making any needed changes to the contract.

  • Set project and department goals. Independently keep up-to-date with clients' business needs and translate to department roadmap.

  • Estimate approximate workload requirements associated with groups of tasks that include several to many people.

  • Create and manage a fiscal year budget.

  • Manage transfer of IT services between vendors, and between internal resources.

  • Liaison between Business Function/Units, IT groups and Vendors, in conducting everyday operations, and resolution activities.

  • Risk identification, prevention and management.

  • Prioritize requests and demands, and plan resources accordingly.

  • Supervise service operations by reviewing reports against contract Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and take corrective actions.

  • Management responsibility for various programs that includes matrix management of multidisciplinary, cross-functional team members across Takeda globally.

  • Responsible for all work decisions directly impacting department; seeks senior managers input on work decisions that impact other areas.

  • Provides guidance for team members, review progress with them, and provides critical feedback to members and/or manager when necessary.

  • Generate collaboration, cooperation and communication across IT and Business Functions/Unit groups as required.

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, including new approaches and processes to benefit the organization.

  • Envisions new solutions to accomplish strategic Takeda initiatives.

  • Service Excellence and Customer Engagement, working closely with senior management and Application Owners to meet Takeda's strategic objectives.

  • Manage relationship with external partners, taking ownership and coordinating activities to fulfil contractual obligations. All in line with Takeda values.

Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree or High School degree with 10 years of equivalent work experience preferred.

  • Extensive experience of managing global outsourced teams across different time zones providing application support, Agile development and DevOps.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to listen and influence stakeholders at all levels, with high proficiency in creating, presenting and conveying messages via effective reports, charts and presentations, to very senior leaders.

  • Strong bidirectional communication skills to have effective interaction with internal and external team members composed of diverse backgrounds

  • Proven success in reducing operating costs

  • Strong negotiation, problem solving and analytical skills

  • Strong Service Management and organizational change management (OCM) skills

  • Fast learner and self-motivated, working independently, seeking management support and guidance as needed

  • Strong understanding on building and managing budgets, finance and contract life cycle management.

  • Self-motivated and highly organized for accomplishment

  • Ability to write and speak in English, with

  • Ability to analyze a wide variety of data points and make appropriate decisions.

  • PMP, Agile, DevOps, ITIL certifications an advantage

  • Biotech or Pharmaceutical industry experience is a strong plus

  • Desire to put people first and demonstrate the values of Takeda-ism

  • Travel Requirements – up to 20% and internationally as required

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$149,100.00 - $234,300.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
