Raytheon BBN Technologies, located in Cambridge, MA, is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join our Physical Sensors and Systems (PS2) group. Our world-class team works with a broad range of government agencies to solve problems that are both technically challenging and cutting-edge.

Our work makes a real impact to operational systems. You will solve challenging problems including:

  • Developing sophisticated detection and classification algorithms against state-of-the-art threats;

  • Designing and implementing complex software to optimize sensor system life;

  • Modeling complex physical systems to validate system architectures;

  • Supporting real time evaluation of your designs in realistic mission scenarios; and

  • Optimizing algorithm architecture for the highest performance.

What you need:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, or related disciplines.

  • 0-2 years of experience. New graduates are welcome to apply.Educational or practical experience with Matlab, C or C++, and Linux.

  • Position may require some amount of overnight travel.

  • The ability to obtain a US Government security clearance.

A willingness to apply and US citizenship are required.

Additional Skills that would be AWESOME:

  • Knowledge of hardware and software and experience developing and implementing physics-based models in MATLAB/Simulink are a plus.

  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, bash, etc.).

  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment (sensors, actuators, analyzers, data acquisition, real-time platforms)

  • Educational or practical experience with software generation and developing real time software.

  • Ability to work in teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications.

  • An active security clearance.
