Microsoft Corporation Client Delivery Partner Leader in Cambridge, Massachusetts

As a Client Delivery Partner (CDP) Leader , you will be accountable to our largest customers for the successful development and execution of transformational programs of work. Using your deep, cross-industry expertise and experiences, you will work directly with customers and an account team dedicated to the success of the customer. As a manager, you will coach and direct a team of CDP’s, inspiring exceptional performance, customer centricity, and developing the organizational capabilities necessary to for you and your team to drive long term success with our customers.

Responsibilities

The CDP Leader is a ‘dual hat’ role, leading a team of CDPs within a Region, whilst fulfilling the responsibilities of a CDP through developing and establishing trusted, long-term relationships with the customer C-Suite and helping those customer leaders craft business strategy and to execute against it.The CDP Leader has experience managing a team of experienced professionals developing and nurturing C-Suite relationships, providing CDPs coaching and guidance to help shape, develop and deliver transformational programs and business outcomes at their customers. This role will also include working with the broader Microsoft Area Team Leaders to identify future accounts for CDPs and successful establish CDPs at those accounts.

To drive successful execution and be accountable to the customer, the CDP Leader is responsible for providing executive sponsorship within Microsoft. This includes direct executive oversight of Business Development, Delivery, and Technical Solutioning capabilities engaged within the ‘CDP accounts’ in their region, building a culture focused on business outcomes and customer product realization, while maintaining close relationships with the CDPs and building a sense of community and belonging with the CDPs in the region. The CDP Leader will provide oversight and guidance as CDPs work across Microsoft organizational boundaries with Customer Success, Account Teams, Specialist Sales Teams, Industry Teams, Engineering and Leader Teams, and across the Microsoft Partner (GSI/ISV) delivery landscape to provide alignment with the customers long-term business success and ensure that Microsoft and its partners are delivering against a high bar of quality, performance and value for the customer.

Specific responsibilities may include:

Help CDPs (within their region) drive outcome-based customer value through digital transformation, innovation and industry thought leadership.

  • Coach CDPs on day-to-day responsibilities at customers

  • Guide CDPs to bring together and orchestrate the power of the Microsoft ecosystem (product teams, sales, services, etc.) to effectively drive impact in the Region

  • Help/support CDPs to align Microsoft and Partner resources across organizational boundaries to flawlessly execute against customer business priorities.

  • Drive Cross Industry Plays across ‘CDP accounts’ in the Region:

  • Cross Industry Functions (Financials/Employee Experience/etc.)

  • Security

  • Sustainability

  • Data & AI.

  • Matrixed accountability to the Industry Solutions Delivery Leader in the Area.

Build durable, trust-based relationships.

  • Trusted advisor with the client C-suite through an in-depth understanding of the client and their industry.

  • Partner with Microsoft executive team to expand key relationships.

Sustainable growth of the CDP accounts and development / execution of long-term strategies.

  • Work with the Areas to build out new CDP accounts and successfully land CDPs into the accounts.

  • Build a multi-year vision and plan for growth in alignment with customer business needs at ‘CDP accounts’ in the region.

  • Guide/coach CDPs to originate and drive innovative deal construct and solutioning to grow the business.

Leadership and People development.

  • Responsibility for leading seasoned and experienced CDPs in the Region.

  • Performance/People Management of CDPs in the Region

  • Create a sense of community for CDPs within the Region

  • Provide direction and leadership to CDPs on successful customer engagement strategies and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

The CDP Leader will need to be a recognized expert in their field with a history of leading a team of experienced professionals, as well as developing and executing complex programs of work. The role is an individual who is resourceful, confident under pressure, and creates clarity in ambiguous situations. The ability to inspire and lead teams in a complex environment is critical to success. The ability to think broadly and problem solve across industries to transform the way our customers do business is equally important. Excellence in communications, professional services delivery, financial management, and building credibility and trust over time are required.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of senior/experienced team of professionals to deliver customer outcomes

  • Extensive people leadership experience; inspiring and fostering a culture of customer centricity, attracting, developing, and retaining deep industry, business and technology expertise.

  • Extensive management consulting experience, influencing client C-Suite decision making and driving business outcomes.

  • Extensive Industry expertise with existing executive relationships and a history of influencing and shaping industry trends and C-Suite decision making.

  • Extensive experience as an operational veteran that has executed against transformation strategies.

  • Strong management, communication, execution skills; a track record of owning a business area and exceeding results, establishing a strong voice to drive transformational change across organizational boundaries.

  • Extensive experience leading teams in a complex, matrixed environment, creating clarity, generating energy, delivering results.

  • Experience running a disciplined customer and business review process with cross-functional teams, identifying and prioritizing blockers, and problem solving across organizational boundaries.
