Oracle Cloud Solutions Architect in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Partners with customers, sales, engineering and product teams to design, demonstrate and deploy Oracle Cloud architectures that address customer business problems. Drives Oracle Cloud customer consumption by accelerating the adoption of Oracle cloud services including discovery, design and deployment.

Responsible for engaging with strategic and more complex customers, builds leadership relationships at multiple levels within organizations in order to design and implement solutions. Works directly with customers to gather requirements, develop architectures and translates business needs into solutions. May implement solutions and ensure successful deployments through code development and scripting. Displays product/application understanding through highly customized presentation demonstrations to customers and at conferences and events. Supports customer from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment of services via resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training. Creates and distributes technical assets (white papers, solution code, blog posts, and video demonstrations). Provides leadership and expertise in the development of new solutions, products, and processes. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies. Acts as an acknowledged authority for customers and sales on technical cloud solutions and customer success. Viewed by peers as a leader and top contributor and by line management as a key business partner. Identifies gaps and enhancements to influence engineering roadmaps for customer driven features. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies.

Minimum qualifications include: 12 years experience with computer applications and tools required. Ability to travel 50% international and domestic. Preferred but not required qualifications include: Bachelor of Science-level university degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering from accredited university; and/or relevant 12 years technical experience. Advanced degree in relevant field of studies highly desirable. Expertise in and an in depth and thorough knowledge of penetrating accounts, meeting stakeholders within accounts, and interaction with C level; Competitive and industry knowledge in the field of computer applications and tools; System and application design; Implementation of advanced product features; Project management; Solving technical problems with customers in technical environments; Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; Needs analysis, positioning, and business justification. 12 years experience and expertise in the clear communication of technical information to others through presentations, demonstrations, written communication and consultative solutioning experience.

Cloud Solution Architect

You will be part of the newly formed ISV and Cloud Native Strategic Engagement team in Cloud Engineering and will be responsible for managing our top pitch to production opportunities end to end. This role is needed as a single face architect and PM role to the customer through pre-sales to cloud consumption (included and paid services) and will work with various pillar architects, specialists, cloud engineers and product engineers to ensure a smooth experience for the customer. This will be a team of very senior people and will have architecture skills combined with project and customer management skills. This will be a small team with high visibility that will work on the top/complex cloud opportunities.

You will work with our customers on migration strategies to move workloads to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). You will work with internal Oracle Cloud offering teams, including Product Management, Development, and sales to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient production cloud architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of OCI services. In collaboration with sales, you will drive revenue and consumption growth across a broad set of customers, help our customers accelerate adoption of OCI – e.g Compute, Storage, Network, Containers, Monitoring, Security – and successfully migrate customer applications from on premise or cloud deployments to OCI services.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

  • In partnership with the sales and pre-sales teams, formulate and execute a strategy to migrate ISV applications from on-prem or cloud deployments to OCI services

  • As a trusted customer advocate, you will help customers understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate existing production workloads to the cloud

  • Working with the sales engineering team and development to develop a production architecture to migrate applications into production environments on OCI

  • Work with customers to develop a Production plan to deploy application(s) to production on OCI, tracking and reporting progress to key stake holders. Work with CxO and VP levels to align Prod deployment plan to meeting business goals and timelines

  • Coordinate the work activities of Cloud Engineers to complete tasks identified in the Project Plan

  • Develop an enablement plan to transfer knowledge to customers on best practices to install, configure and manage OCI services

  • Act as a technical liaison between customers and internal teams – Sales, Solution Architects, Cloud Engineers, Product Development and Support

  • Develop a deep expertise in the Oracle Cloud technology offerings as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the Oracle Cloud platform

  • Help lead and generate excitement and usage of Oracle Cloud services across various customer/partners segments

  • Passion: Working with various customers: educating, training, designing, and building cloud computing systems for some of the largest and most important organizations in the world

Basic Qualifications:

  • *5 years of Technical Project Management *experience coordinating activities of a virtual team, sales and pre-sales engineers

  • 3 years of experience owning or at least been involved in the platforming choices and decisions having been through the on-premise to Cloud journey.

  • Experience migrating to or architecting micro-services cloud solutions and/or containers or has built such green-field “cloud native” applications desirable

  • Experience building or migrating SaaS applications and/or PaaS cloud services on any popular platform e.g. Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Salesforce

  • Experience migrating IP from on-premise to the cloud and/or experience architecting and developing a next generation SaaS offering

  • Experience with*DevOps Tools, *and/or scripting languages, scripting application deployments into cloud platforms (i.e. orchestration)

  • Experience with Agile methodology, using industry standard cloud development practices and dev/ops tooling

  • Strong speaking and presentation skills - formal presentations, white boarding, large and small group presentations

  • Technical and customer-facing skills that will allow them to be the technical interface between Oracle Cloud teams and partner

  • 4-year, “nice to have”: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.

  • *Willingness to travel up to 50% *and ability to work autonomously is highly desired

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree highly desirable,

  • PMP or equivalent certification is highly desirable

  • Current Cloud Architect certification (Oracle, AWS, Azure, Google, etc.) preferred
