Microsoft Consulting Services helps Microsoft customers around the world get the best outcomes from their investments in the latest Microsoft cloud technologies. The Microsoft Federal Azure Cloud and AI team is looking for a Cybersecurity Solution Architect to be responsible for delivering high quality architectural solutions and business outcomes based on the Microsoft Platform and to help guide customers securely through their digital transformation. The role requires both broad and deep technology expertise, advanced analysis skills and information security industry knowledge to define appropriate customer solutions, scope and estimate effort, and provide technical leadership in sales pursuits and solution delivery.

The Impact You’ll Be Making

The focus of the Solution Architect role is to Make the Market and drive Digital Transformation and Modernization Solutions with a deeper focus on mapping customer business and security problems to Microsoft Cybersecurity, Security and Identity solutions.

You will engage over the entire lifecycle of large and complex projects from early pre-sales through delivery oversight to ensure architectural and technical success for our customers. You will lead and motivate technical communities and provide quality assurance for solutions developed by others. You will present to executive audiences, help customer account teams identify, pursue and close strategic business development opportunities, and drive add-on business within existing projects.

The Solution Architect must have current and deep experience across the Microsoft suite of security technologies and solutions. Expert level knowledge and real-world experience in Enterprise Security in cloud, on premise and hybrid environments is required. This role also requires assisting customers in architecting, planning and applying governance for Microsoft Cybersecurity, Security and Identity Solutions as appropriate.

Responsibilities

Key accountabilities include:

Qualifications

For candidates not in the greater DC area - 75% travel under normal circumstances

50% overnight travel required for those in DC area - under normal circumstances

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years with a Technical background and technology-related experience

  • 5+ years of experience architecture experience

Preferred Qualifications:

You will have many of the following education, key experiences, skills and knowledge :

  • Proven success and expertise in architecting innovative solutions primarily in a client-facing role, experience designing and implementing cloud technologies in large scale enterprises

  • Technical and architectural knowledge of Azure Cloud and AI technologies with an emphasis in Security, including some of the following:

  • Private/Hybrid/Public cloud configurations, migrations, patterns, and practices, with a specific emphasis in security

  • Security Standards, policies and Governance frameworks

  • Security, threat modeling, incident response and recovery techniques

  • Security reviews, assessments, and threat modeling

  • Credential Theft Mitigation recommended practices

  • Microsoft Windows, Client and Server, Hyper-V, Azure Stack

  • Azure IaaS and Azure PaaS services

  • Azure subscription planning and network architecture

  • Azure Active Directory and cloud identity

  • Active Directory and migration services

  • Containerization

  • Applications and app modernization, DevOps

  • Data and Artificial Intelligence

  • Scripting, automation, and infrastructure-as-code

  • Modern Management for client devices with Azure AD, Intune, and Configuration Manager

  • Modern Service Management

  • Open-source software experience, including with data analytics

  • Big Data Architectures not limited to LAMBDA, and/or KAPPA.

  • On-premise and cloud solutions for data platform, Enterprise Data Warehouse and Visualization Advanced Analytics and Data Science.

  • Ideally, you will have experience with Federal Government customer scenarios or other highly regulated industries

  • Ability to design, create, and deliver to solution frameworks

  • Experience giving presentations to executive audiences and linking technical solutions to business outcomes

  • Track record of delivering quality solutions as a technical leader

  • Ability to execute recognized Software Architecture methods, processes, and tools

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) relevant to Information Technology, Computer Science/Engineering

The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen. Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements.

The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.

Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.

Cloud Screening: Candidates must be able to successfully complete and pass a Microsoft Cloud background screening. Required Cloud Screenings will be administered on a recurring bi-annual basis.
