Raytheon Data and Application Software Engineer in Cambridge, Massachusetts
Job Description: Our engineers bring together a range of disciplines including Systems, Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Test, Production, and Quality Assurance. The team represents decades of experience supporting U.S. Navy Fleet Ballistic Missile programs, like the current Trident II Mk6 Mod1 program. We are leveraging this wealth of experience and expertise to help our Navy and Draper customers design, develop, produce, field, and support the Trident guidance systems; as well as investigate and develop advanced guidance concepts and systems for the future. The Raytheon Trident team in Cambridge, MA has an opening for a Software Engineer with extensive experience developing complex applications in C++. Development experience should include software architecture, coding, integration, and test, targeting a variety of platforms including COTS PCs or Single Board Computers (SBCs) running Windows or Linux. Experience with real-time applications is also preferred. This is a customer-facing position that provides an excellent opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary team to develop, implement, analyze, and assess new or refreshed software architecture designs using Object-Oriented (OO) and Model-Based Engineering (MBE) principles and tools for defense applications. The successful candidate will adhere to accepted standards and processes for software development, conduct and participate in code peer reviews and design reviews, and generate test plans to ensure maximum stability and quality of code. The successful candidate will be highly-motivated to dig in and develop in-depth domain expertise incorporating the tools and technology being targeted by the program. This individual should be a self-starter, capable of planning and executing individual tasks on a multidisciplinary team, as well as leading small teams, when necessary. Required Skills: Existing DoD Secret clearance Minimum six 4 years’ experience, with a B.S./B.A. in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM); Experience developing code in C++ Experience with Object Oriented Design and Analysis Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills to translate data into stories; ability to interface with customers, leadership and multi-disciplined engineering teams U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.
