IQVIA Director, Organizational Effectiveness in Cambridge, Massachusetts
The Director, Organizational Effectiveness leads and drives programs and projects to improve operational effectiveness and financial performance including initiatives focused on simplification, automation, organizational effectiveness, operational excellence and acquisition integration. Applies expertise to identify, organize, and drive the planning and execution of these initiatives through proven program/project management techniques. Establishes effective program/project management of collaborative initiatives utilizing virtual/matrixed teams throughout the project life-cycle. Ensures all work is in accordance with SOPs, policies, and organizational effectiveness best practices and techniques. Sustains and improves the commitment to being the center for operational productivity measurement, optimization, and efficiency through change and process improvement increasing value-add throughout the organization.
Develop, implement, and oversee program/project management plans including task by task details that govern the execution of all aspects of large-scale, multi-pronged initiatives consisting of virtual/matrixed team members.
Recommend strategic programs forming long-term business partnerships maximizing the creation of solutions that accelerate operational process/productivity improvements within IQVIA positively impacting process simplification, data capture, project planning, change/data/process management, data compilation and high-quality deliverable generation.
Participate in strategic meetings and focus teams serving as advisor while gathering potential initiative insight for future engagement.
In conjunction with senior/executive management will determine initiative structure providing leadership regarding the scope and types of initiatives appropriate for team involvement.
Determine initiative scope, timelines, and feasibility. Evaluate and provide feedback regarding risks, quality, and overall probability of success minimizing negative impact on project objectives and deliverables.
Develop risk management plan including coordination of issue escalation and resolution as well as contingency plans to mitigate risks across initiatives.
Serve as knowledge and subject matter expert for service area and contact for senior and executive management regarding initiatives.
Ensure initiatives are aligned with overall strategy ensuring alignment and incorporation with overall IQVIA strategy
Identify and establish transparent, successful collaboration with internal and external stakeholders: team, client and IQVIA
Lead high level presentations to executive management.
Manage staff (if applicable) in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable regulations. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems. Approve actions on human resources matters.
Accountable for successful delivery of service implementations including meeting project timelines in line with meeting budget
Develop and implement program/project management plans at the task level
Oversee and govern large-scale multi-pronged initiatives consisting of virtual and/or matrixed team members
Assisting in identifying potential organizational and/or operational effectiveness engagement opportunities and creating solutions to accelerate productivity improvements within IQVIA
Project managing strategic initiatives designed to proliferate best-practice systems/processes; performing current state assessments, requirements definition, cost estimates, funding requests and program/project plans
Leading LEAN Sigma efforts resulting in process improvements, waste elimination and efficiency, speed and/or quality improvements
Establishing and maintaining strong, long term relationships with key decision-makers, developing deep knowledge of stakeholder needs and partnering with them to identify, measure and improve organizational performance
Project managing acquisition integration initiatives
Implementing KPI's for performance measurement and optimization
Identifying and establishing transparent, successful collaboration with key stakeholders
Preparing and leading presentations to senior/executive management
Managing and/or participating in change management planning and execution
May manage small team of project coordinators and/or analysts focused on operational effectiveness initiatives; responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Life Sciences or related field and a minimum of 12 years of experience in relevant function (e.g. clinical operations, applied math, IT, data management, business, or laboratory)
Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience (life sciences, pharma, biotech, healthcare or related industries) including project management experience, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a management capacity; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
