Aqueduct Technologies Inc. Enterprise Architect in Cambridge, Massachusetts
Aqueduct Technologies is seeking a consultant Enterprise Architect for an established biopharmaceutical company based in Cambridge, MA. The Enterprise Architect will work across multiple business and IT functions on highly complex projects that require in-depth knowledge of specialized cloud architecture domains and technologies. The Enterprise Architect will assess and document current systems, identify gaps and needs, and build out future application architecture. This individual will be responsible for scouting, conducting research on and driving the implementation of emerging and transformational technologies in support of the organization’s business objectives.
Strategy & Planning:
Maintain in-depth knowledge of organization’s strategic business plans.
Provide architectural technical expertise, direction, and assistance to business, systems analysts, engineers, and other systems architects.
Document and develop in-depth knowledge of organization’s existing cloud application architecture, and technology portfolio; make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives with a strong focus on advancing the technology portfolio towards multi-use platforms.
Develop, document, communicate, and enforce technology guidelines and guardrails where necessary.
Develop, document, make recommendations, and communicate plans for investing in advanced technologies, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities.
Drive the implementation of advanced technologies including end-to-end integrated systems and platforms.
Collaborate with business, IT teams and senior management to develop pragmatic technical architectures and designs for complex business needs, and gain buy-in.
Provide guidance to junior members of the IT team.
College or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
10 years’ work experience in the pharma, biotech, or life sciences industry.
Extensive experience with developing IT architecture and technical designs.
Proven experience in systems design and development.
Solid grounding in core applications used in life sciences, including cloud services, APIs/middleware, data management and business intelligence technologies, and software engineering.
Hands on experience with RESTful Web Services, XML, JSON, and application development tools.
Experience implementing composable systems using emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, wearables, and advanced analytics.
Thorough understanding of Agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures.
Good knowledge of healthcare and pharma data privacy practices and laws.
Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to deal with ambiguity.
Creative and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems.
Mindset of challenging status quo to continuously improve and advance IT technologies.
Collaborative in driving decisions with strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.
