The Microsoft Federal organization was established to address the unique mission, legal/regulatory requirements, and procurement rules and processes of the United States Government (USG). Microsoft Federal is committed to ensuring its resources – including appropriately qualified, experienced, and certified personnel (with necessary security clearances or otherwise) are available as needed to meet USG evolving needs. Responsibilities

As a senior leader in a sales and technology role, you’ll influence and have direct accountability for developing and driving strategy across a matrixed organization

Ability to advocate with other senior leaders with MS Federal and throughout Microsoft. Demonstrate deep thinking around complex problems and a sophisticated understanding of the operational aspects of large sales organizations and flawless collaboration.

Ability to cultivate and evangelize the MS Federal mission of building a highly competent ecosystem: specifically: synthesizing, prioritizing, rationalizing and simplifying competing requirements and programs available is fundamental to the success of the position. A visionary attitude, a creative approach to problem solve, and a natural appetite for complex and ever-shifting problem domains, and a stewardship mentality is critical to success.

Provide external customer and industry facing thought leadership for MS Federal including both Enterprise and Mission focused products and solutions.

Collaborate with leadership across Microsoft (Engineering, WW teams, cross-segment, cross-function) and external communities.

Primarily centered on driving the MS Federal OU technical community on developing practices and solutions for all Solution Areas that drive usage and consumption across all solution types, which includes guidance for field technical teams in service delivery engagements optimized to accelerate solution builds and customer wins.People & Team Leadership: Direct reports TBD. Create an environment within the OU technical team that maintains high morale and challenges the people and teams to execute at the highest level.

Talent Pipeline: Maintains a pipeline of internal and external candidates that align to the growth competencies and skills required to achieve the strategy of the OU.

Business Impact: Contribute to the success of the OU with an emphasis on Customer Adds, Consumed Revenue, Active Usage, and IP Co-Sell while delivering string satisfaction in our base, maximizing our partner experience.

Technical Acumen: Deeply understand Microsoft and cloud industry trends and opportunities by following and sharing insights from industry thought leaders and influencers.

Cross-group Collaboration: Plan an active role in connecting across the MS Federal business and within Engineering, orchestrating teams when required.

Coaching: Creates a culture of coaching the team. Invests time coaching using Growth Mindset and other tools to increase team’s skillets.

Technical Enablement: Oversees the success of technical enablement plans for engineering and field tech teams, reviewing OU plans, inspecting on a frequent basis to ensure accountabilities are clear and actions are being followed-up. Continue to the OU capacity goals by Solution Area and Key Workloads to help refine how to we engage with, and track partner capability.

Partner Skilling & Best Practices: collaborate with the MS Federal partner team on specific skill requirements for partners and sharing of best practices for solution build and accelerated growth.

Qualifications

Deep understanding of our technology stack, digital transformation business drivers, cloud platforms, emerging computing trends and their impact on our customers and partner community.

Partner development experience to understand what partners need and how Microsoft can best service and drive our key priorities at scale.

Demonstrated self-motivated team leadership.

Inclusive and collaborative, drives teamwork and cross-team alignment.

Strong executive presence including communication and presentation skills, with a high degree of comfort to large and small technical audiences.

Executive maturity to drive internal stakeholder team relationships, business strategy and plans, and identify risks and communicate them effectively.

Experience successfully managing high priority sales teams, both with technical and business acumen.

Demonstrated success in helping win large customer pursuits.

Recognized by industry and customers as thought leader in both enterprise and mission solutions.

Growth and change agent with a proven track record of ongoing transformation and innovation.

10+ years of related experience in technology solutions/practice development and Cloud/Infrastructure technologies

Ability to travel

The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.

Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.

US Citizenship:

The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen. Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements.

Cloud Screening: Candidates must be able to successfully complete and pass a Microsoft Cloud background screening. Required Cloud Screenings will be administered on a recurring bi-annual basis.
