Flight Solutions Engineers (FSE) provide consulting, integration, support services and tools for the Google airfare pricing and shopping product. The FSE team is made of experts in the Google airfare pricing and shopping solution, QPX, as well as in the air travel industry in general. They work directly with technical and business staff at our partners, as well as Google Business Development/Sales, Product, Engineering and Operations teams.
As an FSE in 3rd party integrations on the Google Technical Services Flights team, you will implement and maintain transactional pricing and booking functionality through Google’s many packaged travel partners. These integrations form a critical portion in the mission of Google Travel to be the trusted place where travelers go for personalized information to make faster, effortless decisions. You will be involved in defining, documenting, implementing, and supporting the lifecycle of partner integrations. Where appropriate, you will be responsible for scaling integrations through training and quality monitoring of offshore vendor teams.
Flight Solutions Engineers work very closely with some of the largest and fastest growing companies in the Travel and Airline industry. As an FSE, you will gain a deep understanding of Google’s travel products and the data feeds that drive the technology.

- Build, test, and maintain integration code (Java, JSON, XML) that enables Google users to price and book through 3rd party service APIs. Troubleshoot issues with code and integration.
- Identify opportunities to scale future integrations through process and technology
- Author process documentation and perform training
- Mentor Google and vendor resources and perform code reviews
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical subject or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience coding in Java
- Experience in JSON, XML, HTML, and Unix/Linux.
- Experience working with and managing external partners and customers.
- MBA or Master's degree.
- 5 years of hands-on experience in Internet products and technologies, including web service API integration.
- Experience in managing critical and complex projects.
- Experience in process documentation and technical writing.
