The Information & Cognition Division is seeking a lead for the Large-Scale Data Processing Group. The Large-Scale Data Processing Group works on exciting, diverse, and cutting-edge projects that have the common element of working with data at scale and speed. These projects include engineering information systems, real-time signal processing systems, and geo-spatial data systems.

The Group Lead is a multifaceted role, in which the candidate will be responsible for growing, managing, and developing the team, shaping and enabling development and deployment of novel technology offerings, and ensuring that the team is successfully executing on the wide range of projects being worked while also performing on their own technical programs or leading programs.

The Group Lead is responsible for promoting the culture of innovation within the group, growing the culture of collaboration outside of the group, nurturing new ideas, and supporting engineers in proposal writing and other business development activities.

The ideal candidate is a proven leader, an assertive self-starter, engaging colleagues and building ideas in a team-centered environment that are complex in nature and cross domains.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other relevant discipline with 5+ years hands-on experience working in program development, execution and business development

  • Demonstrated technical expertise in development of applications that leverage big data/data architecture, including experience deploying one or more large scale data systems

  • Ability to apply concepts to new potential areas of technical interest

  • Experience building and leading interdisciplinary teams to demonstrable successes

  • Experience with business development activities including pitching ideas and working with program managers to develop business strategies

  • Strategic thinker who can craft and execute a vision for the group that moves the larger organizational goals forward

  • Collaborative team player with a passion for people and innovation, someone who can cross organizational divides to collaborate on cross functional teams made up of different backgrounds

  • Ability to clearly communicate about technology to a broad range of audiences, including customers, internal and external stakeholders, management, engineering peers, and others across a broad range of technical and non-technical backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with various sensor types and processing methods

  • Able to identify new business areas to benefit from large scale data processing

  • Knowledge of current best practices, tools, and frameworks as well as emerging technologies, trends, and processes within large-scale data processing systems and systems that would benefit from them

Security Requirement:

  • Current in scope Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
