InterSystems Healthcare Course Developer in Cambridge, Massachusetts

As a Course Developer, you will build online training course content for InterSystems customers and internal staff. You will ensure curriculums and training materials are crafted, updated, and maintained related to the use of our HealthShare software products.

You will influence our success by reshaping and redesigning the methods that customers and implementation partners are using to learn our healthcare products, specifically our HealthShare family of products that aggregate, disambiguate, analyze and present patient health records. With these technical end-users in mind, you will consider assessment and presentation style.

  • Manage and lead development of online courses for InterSystems’ HealthShare products

  • Maintain existing course materials as needed after product updates

  • Design and build online course materials and other documents such as quick reference guides and exercises

  • Collaborate on standards of functionality, effectiveness, and appearance for training

  • Partner effectively with Product Management, Customer Support, Account Management, Documentation and Marketing to provide creative and sound instructional solutions to ensure effective use of InterSystems HealthShare family of products

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year implementation, system administration or support of InterSystems HealthShare products, preferably HealthShare Information Exchange, or similar product.

  • Working knowledge of healthcare data exchange standards like HL7, CDA, X12, IHE and FHIR


  • Experience developing e-learning or online courses for technology subjects, preferably in the healthcare technology field

  • Instructional aptitude and mixture of strong technical and interpersonal skills

  • Presentation skills, strong verbal and written interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability working collaboratively and cross-organizationally

  • Experience in evaluating the effectiveness of training courses

  • Strong technical skills and ability to learn new software/IT concepts quickly

  • Knowledge keeping up to date with meaningful systems, software and training technologies

  • Familiarity with hospital procedures, standard working practices, structure and politics is helpful

  • An understanding of change management

  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence and Agile development concepts is a plus.

  • Experience with SnagIt, Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, or other online learning authoring tools is a plus

  • 2-5 years of experience of implementing, delivering training, and/or supporting complex healthcare IT solutions in a corporate setting

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, instructional technology, or related STEM field
