A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and minimum of 3 years relevant experience required.
Experience with web development and mobile apps.
Fluency in SQL and/or NoSQL, HTML and CSS.
Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience is preferred.
Comfort with Linux and a command line.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with virtualization, containerization, system administration, and/or cloud technologies is preferred.

Department:Harvard Student AgenciesPre-Employment Screening:Education, IdentitySchedule:Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week.Job Function:Information Technology Duties & Responsibilities:Reporting to the General Manager of Harvard Student agencies, the position is responsible for day-to-day management of DEV, Harvard Student Agencies’ newest student-run business focused on software development, and incubation of a dynamic software-development environment. Position offers opportunities to educate Harvard undergraduates on best practices, mentor aspiring software engineers, and guide overall design decisions. Currently, most of DEV’s projects are for young entrepreneurs, and most client interactions are in the exciting world of startups. Future projects envisioned to include educational software for Harvard University and beyond.
The Engineering Manager:
Provides technical mentorship and training of student staff;
Provides feedback to and evaluates student staff;
Leads whiteboarding sessions and design discussions;
Leads and assigns code reviews and other best practices;
Manages and mentors a team of student staff who design and implement software solutions to customers’ real-world business problems.
Initial opportunities may include:
Design and implementation of web-based educational tools.
Design of back-end APIs and database schemas.
