The Lung Cancer Initiative (LCI)/the World Without Disease Accelerator (WWDA), is a cross-sector R&D organization working within J&J, is charged by the Executive Committee with meaningfully altering the course of lung cancer and improving survival by preventing, intercepting, and treating lung cancer and other solid tumor types.
The Janssen R&D Business Technology Organization, on behalf of LCI, is recruiting a Business Technology Lead (BTL). This role is accountable for technology initiatives that advance clinical studies, data science and data partnership management capabilities, digital product development, and digital health within LCI. As a strategic partner to the senior leaders of the Lung Cancer initiative, Global External Innovation, the BTL will build internal and external partnerships to advance technology capabilities.
The role will require a leader who can leverage business context and medical knowledge to combine it with technology expertise. A with knowledge of the healthcare innovation and digital health to lead transformational change and accelerate business value, leveraging available and emerging platforms, and sourcing transformational partners to solve product development challenges in a regulated technology ecosystem. The incumbent must build strong collaborative partnerships with business leaders across the LCI, GEI and J&J Technology.
The role can be located: Boston, MA or Spring House, PA
Serve as the primary Technology Leader for LCI clinical programs and data. Serve as a knowledge partner for Lung Cancer Initiative globally.
Through ongoing consultation and advising, this role identifies and analyses scientific and medical/business opportunities or constraints/needs, works with business leaders to ensure scope and requirements are aligned and creates opportunities for innovation and technology enabled solutions.
Translates business requirements to architectural and solution design
Develop innovative technology products or enhance existing products to support business need
Partner to create and own 2–3-year strategic technology and product roadmap(s) with WWDA/LCI on transformational digital capabilities to run clinical trials including CTMS, EDC, and Analytics Platforms
Determine approaches to execute projects to advance Clinical programs and RWE efforts with knowledge and expertise in managing projects with design control, quality, and regulatory path considerations.
Work with various internal stakeholders including R&D BT, Medical Affairs, Quality, Clinical Development, Technology Services, solution architects as well as external vendors and partners to manage complex technical projects on time and on budget.
Partner with CROs, or internal functional groups to ensure successful completion of clinical programs.
Build a global team to bring entrepreneurial and rapid delivery thinking across technology unmet needs.
Guide early explorations to technology innovations advancing RWE, biomarker research, and Clinical trial technology innovation.
Partner with technology services and central data science to a scalable infrastructure and operating model to support data sciences groups across global sites.
Consistently stay ahead of trends in digital innovation, healthcare, business models while developing an understanding of the business, and proactively recommending impactful solutions.
Identify and champion new competencies and capabilities, and provide training on various technology solutions to LCI partners
Partner with business and technology stakeholders to identify business requirements, constraints, technology options both internally and externally to assemble business cases with clear business benefit and technical roadmap options.
Provide strong people leadership, including conducting performance management, development, and career conversations to J&J standards.
Build and maintain a deep understanding of the business by attending key meetings/reviewing key strategy documents.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Biomedical engineering or related field is required.
A minimum of 3 years of related experience is required.
At least 1-2 years' experience with clinical IT operations and/or global product development in pharma preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to partner with executive level teams is required.
Demonstrated Business Technology understanding of current technology landscape, as it applies to research and development.
A passion for working in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment is required.
Experience delivering solutions from requirements gathering, development to implementation and support is required.
A creative and innovative thinker who is equally passionate about understanding business processes / challenges, as well as technology solutions
Domestic and International Travel up to 10% is required.
Collaborating and managing complex partnerships required
Experience leading matrixed, consultant, and internal and external technical personnel in a fast-paced, complex, global environment is necessary.
