    Job Description

LEADERSHIP ENGAGEMENT OFFICER, Resource Development (RD), to manage the processes, workflows, and briefing protocols related to supporting academic and administrative leaders at MIT in carrying out and achieving RD-related objectives, with special attention on RD’s leadership engagement strategy with the chair of the Corporation, the MIT chancellor, and two vice chancellors. Will work closely with colleagues on advising, coordinating, and communicating information that prepares senior officers for meetings with prospects and donors, speaking engagements, presentations, and events; serve as a primary liaison between RD and the offices of senior administrators; and manage a portfolio of responsibilities related to volunteer management.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; five years’ experience working in a complex, nonprofit, fundraising setting; initiative; experience managing complex projects and multi-stakeholder business processes; excellent organizational, planning, problem-solving, analytical, time management, presentation, project management, customer service, and written and oral communication skills; attention to accuracy, quality, detail, and time sensitivity; openness to change; tact, diplomacy, and discretion with confidential information; Microsoft Office fluency; high-level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Zoom, and relational databases; and ability to learn and become proficient in new technologies/systems. Seek someone who is able to approach responsibilities strategically in a complex, fast-paced, and service-oriented environment; work independently; anticipate consequences of actions, potential problems, or opportunities for change; convey information clearly and concisely; influence others in moving toward a common vision or goal; collaborate and build strong working relationships with others of diverse backgrounds and skills in support of MIT’s advancement and diversity, equity, and inclusion priorities.
