6+ years of experience in a lead/management role on a business intelligence engineering team or project.
Proven experience in business intelligence engineering, including data modeling, report development, database administration
Experience building, deploying, and supporting Oracle Business Intelligence / Oracle Analytics
Must possess strong demonstrated ability to build partnerships including excellent interpersonal, organization, analytical, teamwork and written and oral communication skills.
Familiarity with relational databases, data-warehousing concepts, data integration principles is desired.
Experience with traditional enterprise data warehouses derived from Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms such as Oracle E-Business Suite or PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Capital Management or Campus Solutions.
Proven ability to quickly assimilate new technology and/or applications required.
Demonstrates adaptability, flexibility and the ability to understand a large, complex application portfolio.
Must have proven ability to initiate and manage multiple tasks under competing deadlines and shifting priorities.
Able to work independently and within and across small and large teams.
Demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies preferred.

The Manager of Business Intelligence Engineering is a high-profile position within Administrative Technology Services (ATS), a division of Harvard University Information Technology (HUIT), that provides an array of technology services across Harvard University’s administrative operations. The Manager is also a member of the leadership team of the Reporting, Analytics, and Integrated Data (RAID) team within ATS. This position is a critical leader for Harvard’s Administrative Reporting and Analytics Program, which provides a multi-tenant reporting environment in service to a wide range of operational and executive users. Artifact development is distributed across both centralized and distributed developers, and supported by a core, centralized team of reporting experts, who operate a Center of Excellence for business intelligence, while also participating as full-stack BI developers on projects.
Typical Core Duties:
Manages a team of 5 business intelligence engineers plus additional contractors; manages allocations on a quarterly planning cycle; responsible for daily management of the team and for performance evaluation, hiring activities, and professional development.
Oversees the development of business data models, metadata definitions and models, queries and reports, and ensures alignment with business needs.
Supports multiple stakeholder groups, subject areas, and solutions including iterative design, break-fix, enhancement requests, etc.
Establishes standards for technology and business processes, including conventions and best practices to be adopted by the broader developer community.
Collaborates with other service delivery teams within ATS to engage business partners and stakeholders in the definition of analytic needs, adoption of analytic platforms, education of self-service users, and realization of business value.
Executes other duties as assigned.
