Responsibilities

Expectations and success

Within Microsoft Services, the Solution Architecture Office (SAO) is a team of architects responsible for Innovation, delivery excellence, intellectual property (IP) in support of delivery, field readiness compliance, communities, pre-sales support for incubation pre-sales and solution innovation for the domain.

Our goal is to support and enable the consulting and support teams in the field to sell and deliver with predictability, repeatability, consistency, and quality across the time zones while driving IP reuse and leverage of best practices.

Your success will depend on your ability to work in an ambiguous environment, creatively collaborate with teams in all time zones, ranging from product groups, services marketing, field delivery teams, customers, and of course leadership teams, as well as being able to delivery value quickly.

It is key that you demonstrate deep knowledge of Microsoft Modern work Solutions and Offerings across the entire life cycle, together with a critical focus on opportunity management and technical governance, the Domain Solution Architect drives transformational results and realizes business strategy for both customers and Microsoft Consulting Services.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years with a Technical background and technology-related enterprise experience

  • 5+ years of experience architecture experience in a client-facing role

  • 2+ years of M365 platform experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated Technical leadership and ability to learn & apply new technologies, architectural & design patterns, and latest programming languages.

The SAO Architect should have the following:

  • Deep Modern Work domain knowledge, ideally with experience in multiple sectors and industries

  • Deep expertise in the M365 platform and associated technologies

  • Track record of delivering quality solutions as a technical leader.

  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and training other consultants, architects.

  • Ability to design, create, and deliver to solution frameworks.

  • Experience giving presentations to executive audiences and linking technical solutions to business outcomes.

  • Presales experience including creating and proposing solutions to customers.

  • Track record of delivering quality solutions as a technical leader.

  • Ability to execute recognized Software Architecture methods, processes, and tools.

  • Excellent Communication skills (up/down/peers)

Additionally, experience in any of the following will be considered favorably:

  • Experience in developing technical IP, most notably technical documentation.

  • Experience with agile methods & DevOps

Travel between 20 - 50% is an expectation of this position as the needs of our customers and business demand.
