The Systems Engineering: National Security & Space division is actively seeking candidates for Summer 2020 internships in advanced projects. Candidates should have backgrounds in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Robotics, or related fields. Opportunities span various levels of experience, including Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, and Graduate-level summer internship opportunities.
Candidates should have experience or desire to learn in some of the following: Strong written and verbal communication skills are required as well as the ability to present results to peers and management in formal and informal settings.
Note: This is a general requisition for multiple summer internship opportunities available in the Systems Engineering: National Security & Space division.
Project areas may include:
Electro-mechanical design and test as part of larger unmanned vehicle projects
Model development and verification projects
Network and cybersecurity based studies
Development of software tools to support larger project needs
Design of mission critical systems including space applications
Design and test of low size, weight, and power embedded sensor systems
Development of test software, procedures, and hands-on use of large-scale test equipment
Applicant must be a US citizen and enrolled in an accredited engineering curriculum.
The ideal candidate must be a self-directed learner comfortable in a fast-paced environment and must have a clearly exceptional academic record. Outstanding written and oral communication skills, along with the ability to work as part of a team, are essential. Proficiency in AutoCAD, MATLAB, Python, Simulink, LabVIEW, SPICE, SysML, Cadence or other similar modeling tools and programming languages is a plus.
