What You'll Be Doing:
We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow that is passionate about employing systems biology approaches to unravel novel biological mechanisms and drug targets. The ideal candidate will develop algorithms to obtain interpretable biological outputs from the analysis of multi-omics molecular datasets.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Conduct research in collaboration with other computational biologists and interact with bench scientists to drive biological insights across therapeutic areas (oncology, infectious disease and neuroscience). This position is perfect for a candidate interested in leveraging their analytical skillswhile also improving their understanding of biological systems.
As a postdoctoral fellow, a strong focus will be on scientific and professional development and publications. The fellowship is intended to last 2-3 years.
Build a robust code base in a version-controlled open access repository, for use on high-performance computing (HPC) or cloud platforms.
Strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills required.
The candidate is expected to travel 10% of their time to other company sites and report their results at relevant conferences.
What You Need:
Candidates must currently hold a PhD OR receive a PhD by fall of 2021. Degree should be in an analytical discipline such as engineering, bioengineering, computer science, applied mathematics and systems/computational biology.
Extensive experience in machine learning methods
Experience in omics data analysis and system biology
Strong coding skill in programing languages such as R and python
Proficient in using Linux/Unix OS on a HPC environment and familiarity with cloud computing
Understanding of biostatistics e.g., hypothesis testing, FDR corrections
It's Great If You Have:
Experience with deep learning and explainable artificial intelligence technologies
Microbiology and/or microbiome experience
Immunology and vaccinology knowledge
Longitudinal data analysis of biological datasets
