The Draper Defense Systems Programs Office is seeking a Program Manager who, as part of Draper's Combat Solutions business area, will conceive, capture, develop, and mature a portfolio of next generation capabilities for precision weapon systems. Responsibilities for this role include leading efforts to develop and capture a portfolio of programs originating out of the services’ weapon systems acquisition entities and laboratories and other related research within DoD or industry. In addition to leading proposals, team formation, and recommendations for research and development, the successful candidate will manage programs after contract award to meet program cost, schedule and technical objectives. The ideal candidate has broad experience in weapon systems and operations, DoD acquisition, and an understanding of military operations and is able to work with engineering and science teams to develop and shape concepts for future operational capabilities.
Draper is a not for profit corporation and is a national center of excellence for guidance and navigation technologies, secure and assured systems, and human systems technology. The Program Manager working in the Defense Systems Programs Office is responsible for the active pursuit and management of opportunities for providing the DoD with innovative technical solutions. The ideal candidate would monitor technology trends in armaments, munitions, energetics, and supporting technologies and establish collaborative relationships with academia, national labs, other not-for-profits, and industry to develop new opportunities, as well as leverage existing Draper programs/technology to provide innovative capabilities. The program manager is responsible for defining technical requirements and concept development including the application of advanced principles and techniques to provide innovative solutions in close collaboration with Draper engineering staff, external partners and DoD representatives. The program manager will
Serve as the Draper interface with acquisition sponsors and end users. She/he shall
work closely with engineers from all disciplines within Draper to create and coordinate innovative technical solutions,
establish and maintain relevant business and technical relationships with universities and with industry partners for the purpose of technical collaboration and teaming on significant opportunities, and
participate in industry forums, conferences, and technical expos.
Formulate business capture plans consistent with Directorate strategic plans. She/he shall
develop qualified business leads and maintain an active pipeline of business development opportunities and activities leading to proposal development,
coordinate and prepare white papers, abstracts, quad charts, solicited and unsolicited proposals, business plans, work statements, and program/project specifications, and
maintain proficiency in business development best practices.
Manage the execution of programs to meet programmatic, cost, and technical objectives. She/he shall
direct all phases of program related activity: develop, coordinate and track program budget(s), plans, schedules, technical performance and delivery to sponsors using established automated tools, practices, and methods provided by Draper.

Minimum 15 years of domain experience in land combat operations or related disciplines.
Candidate must have extensive background and experience in the government acquisition and Research, Development, Test and Evaluation of related materiel/technologies.
