Microsoft Corporation Principal PM Manager in Cambridge, Massachusetts
We are looking for an experienced program manager to help lead the Microsoft PowerShell team. We are part of the core Azure compute team and enable customers to manage their hybrid environment at scale. If you are an experienced technology and business leader and passionate about PowerShell, community and customers, we have an opportunity for you to make a great impact driving our open source PowerShell efforts. You will lead a team of program managers, work across teams in the company and help drive the vision and execution of PowerShell. Driving a vision and strategy; representing the team in major customer events, analyst and executive reviews. Delivery of end-to-end customer scenarios in partnership with partner teams across the company, the development team and deep engagements with the field, customers and community. Partnering with engineering, doc and support to deliver great documentation and supportability experience to our customers.
To succeed in this role, you should have deep PowerShell knowledge, technical and analytical skills, people management skills, excellent cross-group collaboration, and a passion for community and customers. You should also have a track record of delivery, preferably in a services environment. Finally, you should be able to drive a strategy and rally the team around it.
5+ years of experience with PowerShell
5+ years of technical program management or product management
3+ years of experience with IT management products and/or services
BA/BS or MS degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical disciplines OR equivalent work experience
3+ years of people management experience
Great presentation skills
Track record of driving a strategy/vision
Hands-on coding experience
Deep knowledge of PowerShell and strong technical background and solid foundation in software or platform engineering principles and architecture design
Strong cross-team collaboration skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
