About This Role:
Forrester seeks a highly motivated Principal Software Developer to take a lead role on the FeedbackNow engineering team. As part of our team, you will transform the way we store, process, and deliver data insights by using innovative technology, cloud services, and machine learning. This role will be responsible for analysis, design, and implementation of internet-of-things solutions for measuring real-time customer experiences. This candidate will ensure software is delivered to high-quality standards by collaborating with agile team members and leveraging unit testing and continuous integration. They should be able to estimate the work required to deliver software features and use critical thinking skills to solve complex problems. In addition to having strong leadership skills and business acumen, the ideal candidate should possess strong experience in application design and development using Java/Spring, React, Angular, MS .NET, C#, Visual Basic, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud services as well as in implementing and administering MariaDB and MySQL databases.
Implement data analytics solutions on our next-generation infrastructure to support client reporting initiatives.
Work closely with product and service resources to satisfy functional requirements of our customers’ business use cases.
Develop, design, and implement reusable APIs to expose data and integrate with web services.
Debug, evaluate, and troubleshoot throughout the application development process.
Commit tested, documented, and reviewed code on a frequent basis, ideally daily.
Build and maintain technical solutions using Java/Spring, React, Angular, MS .NET, C#, and Visual Basic.
Build cloud-based services to improve platform scalability and maintainability.
Mentor engineers by providing meaningful and actionable feedback in code reviews.
Analyze end-to-end system performance and implement measurable improvements.
Assist with day-to-day operations, including administering databases and responding to system issues.
Integrate with external systems using tools such as Kafka and Spark.
Document overall system architecture and lead knowledge-sharing sessions with technical audiences.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
Five-plus years of experience and proficiency in web frameworks like React, .NET, C#, and Java/Spring and in mobile app development.
Three-plus years of experience in a big data environment, ingesting large volumes of real-time streaming data.
Three-plus years of hands-on experience in MariaDB and MySQL data modeling, clustering, and performance tuning.
Three-plus years of experience in designing and developing RESTful API applications and web services integrations.
Experience with continuous deployment processes, test automation, and source control.
Expertise in analyzing application requirements, OO design patterns, and enterprise software development.
Experience in migrating enterprise software applications.
Strong knowledge of data management, ETL concepts, RDBMS, and SQL technologies.
