Microsoft Whiteboard is an intelligent canvas for creative teamwork. Whiteboard runs on any Win10 or iOS device and on the web. It is deeply integrated with Surface Hub and with Teams. Usage has dramatically increased in the last year due to the worldwide transition to remote work and education.
Our team is currently focused on expanding the capabilities of our web offering to enable more collaboration scenarios via Teams. As our usage scales, so do the performance demands of the web client. We are looking for an experienced engineer with a passion for building polished, performant applications. This will require the ability to work closely with a variety of partners across the company, holistically measure the performance of our application, and drive improvements at every level of the stack (service, platform, application).
Drive end-to-end performance across multiple devices. This includes aspects such as app load time, responsiveness, and edit latency.
Work with business stakeholders and engineers to identify useful performance metrics and establish baseline targets
Lead performance investigations and analysis. Communicate the state of performance clearly to a wide audience and partner with other teams to make improvements.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred (such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT, etc.) or 4+ years of industry experience
8+ years of Software Development experience
3+ years of team management or tech lead experience with a track record of effectively leading project teams
Engineering experience React
Experience optimizing consumer-facing web applications
Proven success with cross-discipline and cross-team collaboration
Passionate about shipping secure, accessible, and world-ready applications that allow customers to be more inclusive and productive
Experience engaging with customers to determine requirements and iterate on existing features
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
