Microsoft Corporation Principal Software Engineering Manager in Cambridge, Massachusetts

The Fluid Framework team is looking for a Principal Software Engineering Manager to help lead an effort to bring new productivity experiences to our customers. Our team’s mission is to develop both the underlying technologies and establish high value customer facing scenarios for a new generation of collaboration experiences. Responsibilities

As an engineering manager on the Fluid Framework team, your team will be responsible for key vertical end to end products and experiences that enable new and collaborative ways of working for customers. You will be empowered to have end-to-end ownership for your areas including design, code, test and telemetry coverage. You’ll partner deeply across disciplines as well as across teams to help deliver results that delight our customers. Other responsibilities include:

  • Drivethe strategy, vision and execution for your team working with your Group Engineering Manager,Program Managers and partner teams across Office and Microsoft.

  • Lead a growing teamwith a diverse and inclusive culture.

  • Create an inclusive environment that attracts and retainshigh-performingengineers.

  • Coach and mentor engineers within the team, both technically through code and design reviews and helpingengineers grow in theircareers.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in building and shipping production grade software or services

  • BachelororMasters’ degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, related fieldor equivalent experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in shipping high-quality products orservices.

  • Proven development experience in client-side web development including experience with JavaScript/Typescript.

  • Demonstrated experience with coaching and mentoring other engineers.
