Cambridge Mobile Telematics Principal Solutions Consultant in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Cambridge Mobile Telematics is looking for an experienced, data-driven, and humble Principal Solutions Consultant who wants to make an impact at a growing startup, and help save lives on the road.


  • As a subject matter expert, you will be responsible for educating and guiding decisions made by internal teams, solution partners and customer technical teams

  • Meet with customers to understand their business vision and document business and technical requirements and a delivery plan for solutions leveraging Cambridge Mobile Telematics Products

  • Work with insurer teams and Customer Success Managers to help build and understand the insurer’s business case and return on investment

  • Educate customers regarding our platform capabilities, working with them to define integration goals and requirements, and internally coordinating the implementation of our platform to suit their requirements

  • Work with insurer’s internal teams across business process, IT, mobile, compliance, legal, data science and analytics to plan the best launch strategy

  • Negotiate technical solutions that support a balance between best serving our customers and also ideal for Cambridge Mobile Telematics

  • Find creative and unique solutions to solve complex problems

  • Write solution requirements documents and ensure clear communication and coordination of requirements to the business, design and development teams.

  • Develop, guide and design the solution for projects to be delivered by internal delivery teams or a solution partner team

  • Serve as the point contact person for internal and external teams for integration architecture

  • Analyze proposed solutions for integrations with insurer systems and third parties

  • Recommend solutions with an eye to future scalability, performance, maintenance and usage

  • Collaborate with the customer to identify appropriate success criteria to monitor performance, analyze results, and build a product roadmap for the customer’s solution

  • Cooperate with sales and solution partners by proposing solutions, demonstrating the technology, helping respond to RFPs and serving as as SME for subsequent questions

  • Provide Guidance and mentorship for other members of the Client Services team

  • Ability to Travel 25%-50%. No travel is currently required until restrictions are lifted

  • Be a trusted partner and thought leader to insurance carriers and partners.

  • Complete any additional tasks as they arise


  • Bachelors or Masters degree preferred

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience and 5+ years of experience working in the the automotive insurance industry developing a strategy or technical solutions for underwriting product(s) and/or automobile claims

  • 5+ years experience analyzing, developing and executing process improvements in the automobile claims industry

  • Working with customers - customer focused, and experience working with internal software teams in a scrum process and cadence

  • Ability to think about the entire solution to solve the current business objectives with an eye for scaling

  • Experience in leading technical meetings with internal and customer teams

  • Ability to scope and document requirements, stories and solution architectures

  • Ability to estimate, plan, and create milestones leading to the complete project

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Based in the United States
