Join Program Management in our Platform Engineering Team

Our Platform Engineering team is responsible for developing the industry-leading Akamai Intelligent Platform, delivering secure, high-performing user experiences globally. Our software provides fundamental services to operate Akamais distributed network of servers. The Program Management team is an agile, international, and collaborative team leading programs to support the ongoing innovation and evolution of the Akamai Intelligent Platform to optimise global effectiveness.

Be a part of our highly-visible program management team

As Principal Technical Program Manager, you'll be in a high visible role to coach Leadership and Teams into Agile best Practices and Transformation Experiences. You will plan, communicate, execute, and shape business, strategic and technical programs with diverse leaders and stakeholders. You'll be supporting teams in the design, development, integration, and quality assurance activities, while also considering the big picture.

As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Utilizing project management methodologies and best practices to ensure the successful delivery of large and complex projects, programs, and releases

  • Coordinating initiatives with key stakeholders to create roadmaps, program scope, priorities, and requirements

  • Reporting on program status, areas of risk/opportunity, process dependencies and success metrics to internal stakeholders

  • Adopting best-practice guidelines to influence and implement continuous improvements to the processes

  • Creating and maintaining project dashboards using JIRA, Confluence, and industry standard Tools

  • Managing and tracking internal team dependencies as well as external dependencies

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 12 years of relevant experience and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, another related field or its equivalent.

  • Have the ability to lead aspects of the Agile Transformation efforts from legacy Methodologies to Agile

  • Have detailed understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience managing complex technical software programs across teams

  • Be able to prioritize workload across multiple projects and communicate technical issues effectively to senior stakeholders of varying technical ability

  • Possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills needed to work across global constituencies across multiple time zones

  • Have experience with multiple process methodologies such as Agile, SAFe, Scrum, Waterfall, Traditional PMI methods, etc. in order to influence improvement (certifications welcome but not required)
