The Data & AI Strategy and Solutions Team in Microsoft Consulting Services leads the Microsoft Azure Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Platform strategy and aligned execution through Services, Partners, WW Industry and the STU. We lead the business direction assisting with the marketing, presales, and sales assets spanning the customer journey of enterprise customers across the globe. This Program Management role has a critical role in program development, field landing and guiding execution in Services.
We are looking for a Program Architect with deep knowledge of Data Estate Modernization and consulting experience to collaborate with diverse internal teams to develop and land technical strategies and technical guidance that grow the business and ensure alignment from sales to delivery across Microsoft, globally.
Program Architect, Strategy & Solutions
In this role, you will be responsible for driving the Data & AI technical strategies across the Data Estate Modernization space in partnership with our Business Program Management team and key partners in other Solution Strategy teams, product engineering, the Services Azure Cloud & AI leadership team, and other Digital HQ teams.
Cloud adoption and AI are key to the success of Microsoft. As Program Architect, you will own and drive the architecture, roadmap, and methodologies that inform the design and delivery of our programs, and play a leading role in providing feedback to our leadership team to shape the Microsoft Consulting Services strategy for Data & AI. The leading-edge design/build/reuse guidance that you publish will be used worldwide by our Services organization to speed deal sales and delivery velocity and grow share in a repeatable consistent manner.
Data & AI is a critical part of Microsoft’s overall strategy and you will be responsible for making sure that Services is well positioned to capitalize on this opportunity.
The ideal candidate will be very comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and will bring existing knowledge of Services, Technologies, and Delivery tools.
Work with the Data & AI Solution Strategy Programs Team to strategize, envision, and plan Data & AI solutions and offerings that align and support Microsoft’s Data Estate Modernization strategy.
Leverage knowledge of technology trends to anticipate and recommend innovative solution offerings in emerging technologies and/or applications of technology in alignment with corporate and Digital strategy.
Work with Business Program Managers in the team to develop strategic solution architectures for solution offerings that optimizes technical delivery motions regarding customer value, cost, risks, market opportunity (timeliness), MS’s strategic goals and field capabilities.
Work with key stakeholders across Solution Strategy, Services, Digital Transformation, Customer Success, Commercial and STU to align and support company business goals (campaigns, field go-to-markets & events)
Establish priorities for identifying, harvesting/creating, validating, landing and adopting solution IP-designed to accelerate customer adoption of Data & AI products and services and delighting customers
Work with solution and landing Program Managers to ensure a strong value proposition is embedded into appropriate content and programs across all of Services’ portfolio of solutions
Ensure that sales and marketing messaging aimed at ITDMs exist and is aligned with and reinforces BDM messaging both around our overall Data & AI strategy as well as for specific GTMs and solutions.
Work across other Data and AI teams, such as the Azure Cloud & AI Domain CTO, Intelligent Cloud (WCB), and Business AI and Cloud AI (AI&R) to ensure alignment on architecture guidance and best practices and customer solutions and engagement strategies.
Engage with all Services HQ Solution Strategy Program teams to ensure significant integration of Data & AI as a fundamental architectural requirement and articulate enhanced value embedded/add-on services.
Harvest IP from the field to ensure field best practices and experiences are reflected in our solutions and shared globally
Help to shape the Enterprise Services strategy through the 3-year business plan, yearly execution plan, and sales playbooks, primarily by incorporating the corporate technical strategies and roadmaps.
8+ years of experience in designing and implementing Data/AI solutions, including large scale Data Estate Modernization solutions and systems that address legacy SQL, Competitive DB/DW and Appliance Migrations and net-new Big Data and Analytics Solutions.
Experience with migrations and modernizations at scale including Project Governance, Architecture, Planning and Scheduling, discovery and assessment, pricing and scoping, and Planning and Migrations. Experience working with offshore/factory model Service delivery is highly desired.
Experience in consulting, preferably with Enterprise-scale organizations, managing programs or projects, driving outcomes through diverse groups, through influencing based on business value and shared priorities.
Strong problem-solving skills, a passion for analytics technology, and creativity in defining how new technologies can help customers reduce costs, improve profitability, gain efficiency and gain a competitive advantage.
A deep understanding of how Microsoft sells to Enterprise, including both products and services is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, internally and with customers and partners at all levels, specifically the ability to make the complex technical issues of data science intelligible to non-technical audiences, so they can confidently make critical business decisions.
Education: an undergraduate degree in computer science or equivalent experience. An advanced degree in a similar area will be a key differentiator
Location/Travel: You may be based anywhere in the world and travel will likely be less than 25%, globally.
