Draper's Special Programs office delivers first-of-a-kind solutions against urgent national security challenges. We are seeking an experienced execution Program Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, delivering advanced technical solutions in support of critical mission needs. Responsibilities include deep expertise in execution of full lifecycle projects as well as identifying, capturing, and growing new business, managing customer engagement and leading transition of Draper’s innovative solutions for national security sponsors.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering teams on development of mission-focused solutions with experience in Agile-based management methods as well as traditional waterfall-style methods.

  • Manage a portfolio of Government programs, meeting technical, cost, and schedule objectives.

  • Provide oversight of technical teams and ensure that the teams are suitably resourced to execute effectively.

  • Coordinate with internal support organizations to ensure that programs are fully compliant with Draper and government requirements.

  • Lead proposal efforts, including the development of work statements, schedules, budgets, and compelling technical approaches.

  • Work effectively with a geographically distributed Draper team and external collaborators for business development and program execution.

  • Identify and qualify Draper’s capabilities that may have a significant operational impact for these needs and technical challenges;

Qualifications

  • BS/MS/PhD in Aerospace/Computer/Electrical Engineering, or similar field, with a minimum of 10 years of experience

  • Deep understanding of customer culture, missions and challenges

  • Experience in program/project management of R&D technology development activities and integrating new technology into existing, fielded systems

  • Program/project management in complex technical activities in USG/DoD programs

  • Experience in developing risk management plans, budgets, and schedules, and delivering presentations/reviews

  • Ability to interact with and provide direction to multidisciplinary technical teams

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including strong presentation skills

  • US DoD Top Secret clearance or higher
