Kforce Project Manager in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Kforce has a client in search of a Project Manager in Cambridge, Massachusetts (MA).Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Master Scheduler; Use MS Project 2013 to create individual, resource loaded, project schedules

  • Consolidate schedules (from other PMs) in order to establish a shared resource pool; Establish a process for IT PMs to use the resource pool

  • Monitor resource usage in the pool for overages and work with PMs/managers to de-conflict issues

  • Provide project management services to small to mid-size projects (< 800K); Establish schedules, budgets, and status briefings; Support the technical lead by scheduling meetings, tracking action items, risks/issues, and supporting ad-hoc administrative requests

  • Assist with the development of project charters, business cases, and total cost of ownership analysis

  • Manage risks and solve problems

  • Assist with administration of Change Control/Release Management processes

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology or related field or 10 years of experience managing technology related projects

  • Minimum 5 - 7 years of experience in relevant IT Project Management

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience creating and using resource pools and linked MS project schedules

  • Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project

  • Expert level knowledge of Project Management methodologies

  • Prior experience interacting with, and reporting to, executive level stakeholders and sponsors

  • Prior experience managing multiple concurrent projects

  • Prior experience with IT change control/release management

Preferred Skills:

  • PMP Certification preferred

  • Strong customer service orientation

  • Strong communication skills

  • Experience with Oracle or other ERP suite and SharePoint

  • Position Hours: 9-5
