QUANTUM NETWORK ENGINEER, Research Laboratory of Electronics-Quantum Photonics Group, to develop quantum network testbed in the Boston area. Core competencies are in system-level engineering for the Boston-area quantum network testbed. There will be a special focus on engineering system design, optoelectric control, photonic integrated circuits, packaging and interfaces, high-speed analog feedback, and quantum photonics. The project will involve close collaboration with other researchers in the Center for Quantum Networks and with MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Principal responsibilities will include managing quantum network development, including ensuring the operation of essential equipment; serving as the primary contact for all team members; contributing--in a leadership capacity--to progress reports, written and via presentations; designing and implementing strategies to effectively manage network operations; mentoring students and postdocs on the quantum network build; and coordinating key collaborations with sub-award teams and ensuring effective and productive relationships across the program. The Quantum Photonics Group (https://www.rle.mit.edu/qp/) , led by Professor Dirk Englund, pursues devices and systems for scalable quantum technologies.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, applied physics, or related field; at least six years’ R&D experience; and ability to work as part of a collaborative team. PREFERRED: industry/business experience building optoelectronic systems; publication record; MIT experience; experience with or willingness to learn new laboratory management software; and research experience in engineering system design, optoelectric control, photonic integrated circuits, packaging and interfaces, high-speed analog feedback.
