SENIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER, Resource Development-Office of Communications, to provide design solutions for projects, including brochures, invitations, exhibits, presentations, websites, emails, fund-raising and marketing materials, and other publications for print and digital applications. Will develop and implement consistent graphic identity standards. The position offers the opportunity to work with colleagues across MIT to help bring to life MIT's mission to make a better world.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree, preferably in graphic arts/fine arts/related field; three years’ graphic art, illustration, or design experience working in a studio, agency, consultancy, or in-house capacity; high-level knowledge of print and digital/mobile design, graphic design software, photography/illustration, and print production techniques; experience with video production/editing, front-end web development, working within the development cycle for complex web initiatives, and working with offset and digital print vendors; strong conceptual and typographical and color management skills; solid knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, and Acrobat in a Macintosh environment; familiarity with MS Word and PowerPoint, Apple Keynote, and online collaboration and project management software; experience with HTML, CSS, digital media production for web, and using content management systems like WordPress; ability to concept and help implement interactive charts/graphs, social media campaigns, mobile and responsive design, HTML emails and marketing communications, and user interface best practices; excellent organizational skills; and openness to new ideas. Must be able to multitask; meet aggressive deadlines while keeping close attention to detail; work as part of a team; and collaborate effectively with management, designers, writers, technologists, and other colleagues. PREFERRED: Final Cut, After Effects, Adobe Premier, and Adobe Animate experience; and experience in higher education, advancement, creative agencies, or journalistic enterprises.
